I was watching a YouTube video put up earlier today by Scooteria, whose channel I subscribe to. (He vlogs in German, but YT's "Subtitles/CC" with "Closed Captions" works fine for an English translation. He also vlogs in English, under Marc Stones, mostly about his Royal Enfield Classic 350; as I...
@400GT Flyer:
Excellent report and pics. It looks similar to backrests that came with the late, great, Burgman 650, although I didn't even know a product like that existed for the C 400 GT.
My wife, for instance, won't ride as a passenger on ANY bike that doesn't have a backrest or...
I'm obviously not @triangletom, but here's my guess. This is based on the many posts he's made describing his travels on his CE-04, i.e., his visits to particular (named) small towns, his searching for charging stations within and near them, and so forth:
1) His real name is Tom, or Thomas, or...
Hey, thanks again -- I was wondering about that very thing, i.e., what happened to the stock threaded area.
BTW, it occurs to me that those stock threaded holes that formerly held the stock mirrors would also be useful for adding some RAM balls -- say, https://rammount.com/products/ram-b-272u...
Hey, did you see the pics at the link -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CPP89WRS/ -- that @teleman609 provided? Here's one of the pics, i.e., my first guess that the mirror-holding brackets go underneath the stock windscreen-holding trim piece, and through the stock bolts, was correct...
Hey, some nice links there -- thanks.
I hope you're as thrilled with the Photon Boosters as I am, i.e., I hope that you don't feel like I steered you wrong on those.
You use the sat-nav connector for a power source for the PBs and those CZC LED strips?
1) Regarding the mirrors that @teleman609 pictured in the first post, it looks to me as if they include a base that has some folds to it, after which a flange goes under the windscreen trim/holding piece, and probably has holes that those same bolts go through. Or maybe there's just one piece...
You can't just leave us hanging ...
1) Are those Skene Photon Boosters, like I have (or maybe Photon Blasters)?
(From my C 400 GT gallery pic https://billanddot.com/C400GT/#S-74 )
2) Link (or brand) of the new mirrors?
3) Link (or brand) of what looks like additional LEDs just below the...
I just ordered one in black, for my '23 C 400 GT, and will report back here with pics and my thoughts when it arrives and I get it installed.
I have not read of any such thievery in the USA, but: 1) I will be doing some traveling in the coming months, with overnight hotel-lot parking, etc...
I'm not an admin or anything like that, but over the past two years I've put up a lot of pics here ... and so have discovered, through trial and error, that this forum limits pic size to right around 1 MB. That's incredibly small these days, and certainly smaller than any other forum I'm a...
I've been on the forum for about two years now, and I don't recall reading about anyone's doing that on a C 400 GT. And I'm familiar with folks using K&N air filters from reading about it on forums dealing with other bikes I've owned over the years. Of course, maybe your question will get...
I just filled out a web form on the "Contact us" link here, asking someone to move this to the "C400X - C400GT Modifications" sub-forum. If that gets done, I think it will help out others who may be searching for this info later on.
Just for more completeness, as I noted (and pictured) in post 3 here I bought, and like, the Wunderlich windscreen with vent.
Unlike @mzflorida, I don't have any issues with the vent, and largely keep it completely closed (and in my case, it does hold that closed position okay); it rarely gets...
Looks nice, and functional.
A few questions for you:
1) That page (https://www.cymarcbikeparts.co.uk/bmw-c400x-tft-screen-security-brace-1608-p.asp) mentions "C400" and shows a picture of it mounted on a C400X. Am I correct that this will also fit a C 400 GT?
2) It looks like the security...
Probably it would, but these are a little more secure, i.e., less chance of their coming apart (which might happen with a hastily wrapped velcro strip).
Also, the plastic ones -- either that fixed-size one from Walmart, or the sort of ratcheting-step one from Wunderlich -- seem easier (to me...
I'm confused, too: c. 112 mph out of the C 400, stock or modified, seems a bit much to me.
This appears to be the same guy, or shop, or something, that is involved in adding internal (I think) TPMS sensors to the C 400, and then showing that info on the TFT...
Being ABS, I'm not sure how it would handle different-sized grips, such as the foam Grip Puppies I have over my grips. By contrast, the very slightly more complicated BrakeFix -- https://www.wunderlichamerica.com/BMW-Motorcycle-BrakeFix -- that I have has no problem dealing with my situation...
