Had a clear but COLD ride all the way down till I hit the Florida state line. Then the temperatures finally started feeling like Spring except then it started to rain. Rode in and out of the rain all the way to the resort here in Orlando. Arrive Monday evening. Today was chilly and overcast in the morning but the sun finally did break through and the temperatures actually reached the 70s. I had a new front tire installed at BMW of Daytona as my front one was looking pretty "iffy" for the ride home. Only one scooter on the floor, a white, 2016 C650 Sport. Haven't seen any BMW scooters on the road yet.
Jaime, sorry we missed you. We had rain on-and-off right up until the day (yesterday) we had to head home (wife had an event in St Pete Wednesday morning she didn't want to miss). We stayed at the "Sunrise Inn" on the beach and didn't see a sunrise until the morning we had to check out. The rain helped to keep the crowds low and at least made street parking easy.
The funniest thing happened Tuesday at 1pm when we were getting on the scoot to head home after some last minute shopping on main street (sun was finally out, it was dry, and the fair-weather bikers were pouring in). As we walked up to the GT we saw two gray-haired guys, wearing BMW T's, standing next to the bike checking it out and when they saw me unlock the seat, asked me: "Did
You put
those on there?"
"Those what?" I responded.
"Those BMW logo's" one said, while pointing at the side of the bike; "BMW doesn't make a scooter."
I couldn't help but smile. "Evidently ... BMW undeniably did, while you weren't looking," I winked.
The wife dropped in her purse & shopping bag, I closed the seat, and she climbed on the back.
With their mouths still open and their faces scrunched up, I gave 'em one last smile and a wink and we rode home.
