Main and parking brakes are quite independent - the only common factor is that they both work on the same disc. Parking brake is a really simple mechanical affair, operated by a cable from the side stand. If you look under the left side of the bike, while it’s on the centre stand, you should be able to see the cable moving as you operate the side stand. Adjustment is easy - there’s a nut on the end of the cable that you tighten or loosen as required.
