Postscript a few weeks after this original post: It turns out that it was my side stand that was draining the battery down for some reason. Had the side stand replaced and now all is good. Use the CENTER STAND whenever you're leaving the bike for any longer amount of time.

Really mad at BMW right now. C650GT will not start if it sits for 3 days or longer, but will start if I jump the battery. Dealer says it put the battery on BMW's "test unit" and the battery is fine. (OK, so why does jumping the battery work then?). I will go out and buy my own replacement...

My "trick" is remaining upright at all times. :o)

C650GT Custom painted Atomic Orange

This has never happened to me. I have 700 miles on my C650 GT. It must be something with that one particular bike. I'd try a different one.

The paint job was $800. Here is a picture in sun. It's a gorgeous color.

Is anyone else short like me (5'9" with a 29" inseam) and have to be on your tiptoes when you stop? If only I were 2 inches taller!!!:eek:

@rothenbj - It's called "Atomic Orange" and it's a Corvette color. I have a lifetime guarantee from the body shop, who has been in business here for over 30 years. Hopefully I won't experience any issues.

@ Rothenbj: You can always paint it another color! Mine was originally bronze, which is really a nice way of saying "gray."

Does anyone know if this helmet is available in the U.S. and if it's DOT certified? If it's available, what website?

BMW had to pick up my C650GT at my house this morning to bring to the dealer to get it fixed (Just 31 miles on the odometer). Hadn't ridden in two weeks because of the weather. Went out to ride it last night and the EWS! warning came on the readout. Manual says it's the Engine's Electronic...
