That is why I ask, because lower octane gas has more energy content and it makes sense that it would run better on lower octane. If the engine is setup for 87 octane, using 89 or 91/93 will actually make less power. Higher octane gas isn't better gas... (Unless your vehicle requires it)

I'm in the USA and generally BMW bikes all recommend 89 octane. If I look for owners manuals online some of them also say 89 octane. The sticker on the bike says 87 octane.
I'm not one of those people who thinks premium gas is better and makes more power (it certainly doesn't) I'm one of those...

Finally got the issue fixed via the service bulletin. Seems like they have put in a stiffer motor mount. I do feel the engine more through the bike now, but the annoying resonance/vibration is gone.
If I recall you have to go into the My Vehicle section and then go to the right from there into the extra screens where you can reset the trips

They only gave me the bulletin number unfortunately. They don't usually give out bulletins. Maybe someone at a BMW dealer can look up the bulletin number, I could not find anything on the internet.
So apparently the loud resonance noise at around 20mph BMW knows about as there is a bulletin out for it. There are no parts available to fix it however.
So i'll have to bring the bike back in at some point but at least a fix is coming, that is good to know.
