I am in the Los Angeles area, and am putting my 2015 up for sale.

I went out to my scooter this morning, and the lock cylinder was laying on the street. I can still operate the scooter with difficulty, but would like to know what is wrong and how to fix it.

I am putting up my 2015 for sale. 10066 miles. Southern California.

I use my flashers whenever someone is tailgating me, which happens often.

The feed for the hydraulic tensioner originates right near the oil filter. Should be an easy check.

I had no warning. Some on this forum have reported a noisy valve train as a symptom, but I had nothing to compare against.

Does your bike have a hydraulic tensioner now? If not, you will need to take off Tupperware until you can not only see the motor but also enough so you can remove the radiator so as to gain access to the rocker cover.

I recently did the job myself.400usd for the parts. The most time was spent removing the mountain of Tupperware on the bike. I would say the job is for someone with a moderate level of mechanical ability. I grew,up riding bikes that needed tappets adjusted every 4000miles.

The bike suddenly stops, and a compression check shows no pressure in the cylinders.

Last Time I had my scooter towed, I removed the front fender(60 second job).

I would not trust the mechanical tensioner. Mine has failed me twice.

That is what I was quoted. It frosts me that BMW does not pay for this. It was covered by an NHTSA recall, but they tell me my particular serial no. Was not part of it.

I am only half way through. I have the replacement parts(400.00$), and have the stuff under the rocker cover. The bolt next to the oil filter stripped out slightly, and I have held out installing the hydraulic parts.

You might try cycling the ignition switch on and off a few times before cranking. The assures that the fuel is topped off on the fuel rail. Also, mine is also a little sluggish on the start, well as my Yamaha.
