What's your Odometer reading? aka how many miles on your bike?

About 17,500 miles. 2013 GT bought March 2013. 2 sets of tires, and a battery. Added a Kaoko throttle lock and Ram ball mount on the brake reservoir for a GPS. Have a Nelson-Rigg tail pack for weekend trips. I really enjoy the bike!

    Throttle Problem on C650GT

Guys, thanks for the replies, I've been away for a while. My problem is not the clutch disengaging, but with the engine going to an idle condition with 10 or 15% throttle. The throttle works smoothly above that power level, but abruptly cuts out with a light throttle at around 30mph. The...

    Throttle Problem on C650GT

After I have been riding on the highway and get back onto city streets, the throttle seems really touchy at low speeds. When riding at 25 to 35 mph the engine cuts back to idle at something like 10% throttle. I can accelerate or I can coast, but cannot ride smoothly with a stead low speed no...

    Central California Riders, Say Hey!

Hey guys, A buddy and I are taking a Memorial Weekend ride in Central California. 3 days: Santa Rosa to Ferndale via the Lost Coast; Ferndale to Quincy via Humbolt State Forest and Lassen N.P.; and home via Truckee and Clear Lake. I ride a 650GT and he has a K-1600 GTL. With reasonable...

Starting Problem when bike is Hot

I have had this happen 3 or 4 times. It happens when I take a short ride, a mile or 2, and going into a store for few minutes. When I get back on, it doesn't want to start. I suspect the engine is fooled into thinking it is warmed up, and does not increase the fuel/air mix as it would if it...

    C600 Sport lights

Hey TwoPort, excellent description on how to change the bulb. BTW you live close to here, send me a PM and maybe we can go for a ride some Saturday. PS. I have really big hands, but its the extra long arms that gets the job done.

    C600 Sport lights

Don't know about the C600, but you can change the headlight bulbs on the C650 without any tools. With a little effort you can reach up under the front wheel cowling and change the bulbs. You have to do it by touch, but the owner's manual has pictures the show you what to do. After the first...

Any suggestion to lower ride height?

Good boots with a little more heel helps.

    Light bulbs replacement

For what its worth, I replaced my headlights with PIAA Night Tech bulbs. They are a little whiter than stock and a lot brighter. I put them in at about 7K miles and I have about 3K mile on the bike since then with no issues. I'm happy with them. And I wanted to share this: You can replace...

Has Anyone in the U.S. Actually Had the New Tensioner Timing Chain Installed?

I have been lurking on this site for a long time. Lots of good info. Time for me to contribute: I had my tensioner replaced last Tuesday. My '650 has about 9300 miles on it and I was beginning to hear the "barking seal" noise. Not loud, and only on long rides when decelerating. I didn't...
