I joined-up today. A blue '18 GT

I seriously thought about taking pics of her in the sunlight, but I've been cooped-up too long and just wanted to ride it.
Handed over the cash, then down to a Tag and Title place not more then a mile from the seller. Their connection with the
state went down, and I thought I would have to come back tomorrow for my stickers. But, they called me while I was still
in the neighborhood there, and I was able to return for them just before they bolted the door closed at 5pm.

Did about 30-40 in town, then a jaunt down the freeway. I've loving it, as you all know, I'm sure.
Much roomier than my '09 TMAX, and less engine braking off-throttle. Also, I can fully flat-foot the GT, while
I am just shy of heels-down on the Yam. I have to pick-up the Max from Service tomorrow, but I think the ONLY thing it
might have on the Big Beemer is a quicker roll-on. I'll be putting the Max up for sale in short-order, LOL.

Congrats on owning the world's best mega-scooter! (I think the Suzuki Burgman 650 is also in that category, but it looks like they're not going to make them any more)

Hope you enjoy many safe, fun miles!

WHY on Earth would Suzie drop the best selling mega on OUR side-of-the-pond?
Anyhoo, here is the miniscule (to me) drop-damage that allowed me to get a great
deal on the GT....

"WHY on Earth would Suzie drop the best selling mega on OUR side-of-the-pond?"

Near as I can tell, Suzuki is dropping the big Burgman because of forthcoming environmental regulations on the European side of the pond, Euro4 or Euro5 or something. The Burgman 650 would apparently need a major retooling to comply, and sales are not big enough to justify the investment. Suzuki has not said that, but I keep reading it and hearing it. I may have to trade my 2016 for an '18 to get the last model year made and keep that for awhile -- I love the bike.

Luckily, BMW is sailing right along cranking out new C 650 GT's, so I look forward to riding that for a long time. I like having both, actually. The Burgman is an unmatched cruiser, elegant and smooth. The GT is an alpha scooter. It growls and acts like a BMW motorcycle. Fun to have the choice.

The scratches on your GT don't look terrible and have zero to do with performance. You got a great deal in that respect.

so if you had to give up one which one would it be and why?

My Dad was a retired CPO. Thanks to the U.S. Navy, I grew up all over the country, always next to an ocean. It was interesting.

"so if you had to give up one which one would it be and why?"

I actually made that decision earlier this year. I felt a bit flamboyant having the BMW and Burgman in the garage to the tune of $13,500 in scooter inventory. I figured one of 'em had to go.

For two weeks, every morning, I came downstairs to the garage for my daily ride to the beach to feed peanuts to pigeons. Every morning, I faced the same enjoyable decision: ride the BMW or the Burgman?

I realized I was taking the Burgman on 4 of 5 trips. So I put an ad on Cycle Trader for the BMW to see if there was interest. Within 24 hours I had cash in hand. Shortly after, I found a super nice 2008 Honda Silver Wing with Corbin seat, Clearview screen and big topcase for $2300. So I still have two bikes, which I like for diversity, but a lot less money tied up in them.

Now, WHY did I sell the BMW instead of the Burgman?

The Burgman 650 fits right now ... quieter, smoother, better acceleration and a more sure-footed feeling at highway speeds. I actually feel relaxed when I ride the Burgman. With the BMW, it's intense. It sounds and feels more urgent. It's exciting, aggressive, ready for adventure. And I love that ... just not right now.

I kept my $254 GIVI screen for the BMW because there is a 100% chance I will buy another C 650 GT.

Having discovered big scooters late in my riding career (I bought my first Honda Silver Wing 600 on Christmas Eve, 2017 shortly after learning about mega-scooters for the first time), I owned nine since then. I find good deals on low mileage, clean bikes, update all the maintenance, ride for awhile and sell them for a break-even price or modest profit.

I've now been through the "big 3" scooters and enjoyed the unique benefits of each. Only BMW is still producing new models, so I'm sure that's my future scooter. I will never buy another bike that shifts because I love the smoothness of big scooters and they speed my reaction times.

That's a pretty detailed answer to a simple question, but hey, I have extra time on my hands these days. ;o)

Thanks for the great write up. An unexpected meeting with a deer last fall in Ohio totaled the 15 AN650. I’m torn to get 16 or up C650 or another Burgman. After all this lockdown is over the scooter will be replaced. Ride safe, David

Just had my 6K oil/filter today. But, I had a new set of Pirelli DiabloRosso tires put on, a new air filter, and brake lines flushed-new fluid.
This marks 500miles for me on her, plus 500 on the Max. My comparison thoughts in another thread.

Funny you mention that. I've been looking for another C 650 GT. I seem to have a "grass is always greener on the other side of the scooter" mentality. I'm always looking for my next one. That's exciting.

After several months of the Burgman 650, it can be a little boring. You can never say that about the BMW. Also, I miss the live tire pressure readings on the BMW. That's a fantastic feature.

I'll probably stick with my Burgman. It's a matte black 2016 with just 2,800 miles. There's a backrest and GIVI top case that accepts my XL Schuberth helmet, and I paid $5200. For all that, I can be a little bored. There's always the "Power" button ;o).

I like the "Lincoln Town Car" vibe of the Burgman. It's a big, plush ride. My Honda Silver Wing is more akin to the BMW's ride (although 1/10th as nice), so there's that.

Plus, in our current economic climate, the number of potential buyers seems to be at a minimum. I may put the Burgman and Honda on Facebook to gauge the interest. FB is an effective selling medium and I love the cost (free).
