New member in South Florida 650 GT

Not that I'm aware of. The BMW MOA forum has a section on the C650GT but it is less active than this forum. Maybe one post every 2-3 weeks. You can try here: https://advrider.com/f/forums/battle-scooters.36/ (lot of scooter activity and some of it is BMW related)

New member in South Florida 650 GT

Welcome. This board has about 1% of the activity of the Burgman 650 forum. There are maybe 1-2 posts here per day -- sometimes not even that many. But, that is to be expected because of the low number of BMW scooter sales compared to the Suzukis. The Burgman forum is a great forum...

What made you choose BMW over Burgman?

I purchased by C650GT because of the local dealership (IronHorse Motorcycles). I like them -- every one that works there. The owner, the two salesmen, the service manager, the parts man, the accountant, the two service techs. The dealership is well respected in the city where I live. I have 6...

    Removing backrest on 2018 C650GT

That's good enough for me. It doesn't bother me enough to have something that's ugly. It stays.

    Removing backrest on 2018 C650GT

If the backrest is removed and not used, is there anything unsightly there? Or something that will jab you in the rear? I'm 6'2", 210 lbs, and I think It might be more comfortable if I removed the backrest completely so I could scoot back a couple of inches. The backrest is already in its...

    Chain tension problem?

That sounds like a warranty item to me, especially with only 600 miles. Changing out the "chain kit" is done every 24K miles (40K km) -- it shouldn't be out of wack in the first 600 miles.

    Considering a C650GT

Welcome to the forum. Can't answer your question but someone here should be able to . . . If not, check the BMW MOA site, the scooter sub-forum: https://forums.bmwmoa.org/forumdisplay.php?83-Scooters

Hello from Carson City, Nevada, USA

I have to believe the Vespa-to-BMW scooter ratio is at least 10,000 to 1. :) Two other pretty good sources for BMM scooters (hope I don't get in trouble for referencing other forums): - https://forums.bmwmoa.org/forumdisplay.php?83-Scooters (but you have to be a BMW MOA member -- there's a...

Battery tender use with 2018 C650GT -- some questions

Yeah, the dealership proposed two methods of running the pigtail: (1) drill a hole and run cable into right bin (like you did) or (2) run the cable out the front without drilling any holes. They suggested the latter saying they don't like to drill or cut if they don't have to. I agreed. I...

    Long start

I guess if the scooter always starts then this little phenomenon will only have the effect of slightly shorter starter life.

    Hello from SW USA

Thank you. It's good to know I made a good decision buying this scooter. I've made some bad decisions buying bikes on occasion . . . Last time I was in San Antonio was in the summer of 1971, in USAF basic training. I remember the Alamo and that wonderful little river that ran thru the heart...
