    Recalls - Not Just BMW

Piaggio is recalling their custom-made $10,000.00 150 cc scooter for fuel line issues. Apparently the fix requires major disassembly. This is a limited series offering and it only goes to show that even the best laid plans "o' mice and men...."...

Advice - Best Trickle Charger and Set Up

I'm facing serious surgery in late June. I anticipate it will be months before I will be able to ride. I've set it for late June because July, August and September are like our winter months (except that it is brutally hot). If you have a recommendation on a charger I'd appreciate the...

Heated Grips Help Prevent Hand Cramping

Yesterday I was on an extended ride with one of my clubs. It was nippy by Houston standards (nothing compared to Chicago weather). I heated my grips for the first time and found that the heat prevented the cramping I usually get in my left hand. That makes perfect sense since heat can reduce...

Why did you choose the BMW?

I know a number of you, like myself, have owned (or currently own) a number of other motorcycles and scooters. For some this may be your first bike. I ended up with a C600 Sport through an evolving series of events. I'm interested in how you arrived at your decision. In 1990 I crashed hard on...

    My Only Gripe (So Far)

My only gripe with the Sport (so far) is why BMW couldn't have placed the oil filler and dip stick outside of the housing. It would have been very simple. Checking oil should not require removing anything but the dip stick. When on a ride with a group not everyone has the patience to wait for...

Has anyone acquired a service manual for the C600 Sport?

Has anyone acquired a service (shop) manual for the C600 Sport? I did a cursory internet search and didn't get any particular leads.

    Grip Buddies

I installed a set of Grip Buddies. I had previously used Grab On foam grips on my other bikes - but since my scoot came with heated hand grips I was concerned that thick, foam grips would not transmit the heat. Occasionally it dips below 80 F. here and I might actually use that option one day...

    Top Box

Has anyone bought and installed the top box sold by BMW? What are your impressions regarding quality, etc.? I have a spare Givi Monokey box and universal mounting plate and I wonder if the BMW box and mounting plate is manufactured by Givi. I like the look of my spare box better than the BMW box.

    Oil Consumption - Your Experience

What kind of oil consumption have you experienced? My Kymco 500 and Burgman 650 were stingy on oil.

    New Member from Texas

I picked up my new C600 Sport this last Saturday. I've owned several maxi-scooters in the past (including a Burgman 650) and this BMW scooter blows the doors (if they had doors) off of them in every category. I look forward to exchanging information with all of you.
