Congrats!
For those interested, my ‘19 C650GT with 8200 miles in excellent condition is still available for $6950. It has brand new Michelin radials, a new Givi +2” screen, new Givi V40 top case, a new, unused BMW tunnel bag, and is under factory warranty until March 2022. Ready to go! The...
I have an opposing view. I think it looks okay. There’s plenty of tread left, but more importantly, the tire doesn’t appear to be cupped or lost it’s profile. I wouldn’t worry about the date code.
Interesting discussion. My ‘19 goes on the center stand relatively easily, but getting it off the stand is another thing entirely. On my smooth concrete garage floor, the bike skids forward on the center stand when I try to rock it off. It takes a real effort to retract the stand on that surface.
Excellent, as-new condition
New Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires
New Givi +2” windscreen
New Givi V40 Monokey 40L top case
New BMW tunnel bag (not shown)
Two Battery Tender / SAE 12v connection points
Ocean Blue Metallic, never dropped or scuffed, always garaged, 8200 miles. Balance of BMW factory...
The cupping (uneven, scalloped tread wear) won’t cause a blowout but it will create vibration and make the bike less enjoyable to ride, at least in my experience. It’s generally caused by under-inflated tires.
Ah, a bit of context is important. I live in the mountains west of Denver and avoid riding on freeways and in urban settings whenever possible. I have easy access to several days worth of wonderful curvy two-lane roads just out my back door. That’s probably why I’m picky about the profile and...
This is helpful, but for me it’s all about a tire’s ability to maintain its profile as the miles accumulate, without getting squared off or cupped. Once a tire is squared off or cupped, I replace it regardless of the remaining tread depth. Certainly, a lot of folks ride until their tires are...
Michelin Pilot Road 4’s on my ‘19 C650GT. It’s too early to tell how well they’ll hold up, but if the PR4’s on my R1200RT are any indication, I’d expect to see 8,000-10,000 miles out of them.
I prefer to keep my bikes stock, but I imagine if you remove the rear fender you’ll probably find a creative way to reattach your license plate without it. I’m unaware of any aftermarket kits for accomplishing this.
Yes, post to the UK is no problem although I’m having a difficult time obtaining a reasonable quote. If you’re agreeable to $20 for shipping, I’ll eat the rest if it comes to more than that, and refund you the difference if it’s less.
As new, excellent condition, removed from a clean ‘19 C650GT but fits all model year C600, C650 Sport, and C650GT. Includes installation instructions. Model #CCF915 (for bikes with black bar-end weights). $50 delivered in the U.S.
You really don’t know how old your tires will be when you order them from an online vendor, sight-unseen. Today I received a fresh set of PR4’s from Revzilla, both with a date code of 1621, which indicates they’re only about four months old. Good job!
When it comes to consumables (filters, pads, fluids, plugs, etc.), I stick with OEM. Takes the anxiety out of second-guessing yourself, and in the grand scheme of things, the cost difference between OEM and aftermarket is largely immaterial.
