    C650GT Maintenance Tips

Hate the oil tube. Don't drop it into the engine!

I've never used torque wrenches either for basic tasks.

    One Owner 2015 BMW C 650 GT in E. WA / N. ID

One older, meticulous owner. 8600 low miles and in excellent condition. Always kept in climate control garage on a battery tender when not in use. Clean Idaho title in my name in hand. Easy sale. Special edition Quartz Blue Metallic paint. Electric windshield, cruise control, heated grips and...

    Another cam chain tensioner failure.

Is there any data on what percentage fail? My '15 has the mechanical tensioner (I believe) and about 8K miles. No noises (yet.)

    Windscreen spoiler

TEMU windshield foil for $16 (shipped) is a good enough solution for this 6'2" owner. The windshields are all $200+ and as fugly as the clip on so I kept my money in my wallet.

    New member welcome thread..

New 2015 C650GT owner here in the great state of Idaho! I've owned three scooters now and slowly grew in displacement each time. Thought a Honda Forza would be enough but the Beemer 650 is the best fit!

    Motoscan app and service indicator

No response from the group so I will answer my own question after interacting with the MotoScan designer online. If one wants to do things like activate the ABS pump for a brake flush and learn new TPMS sensors, the Ultimate version is required.

Long-term review of the BMW CE 04 (The Suit & Tie Rocket Ship)

Sticking with my ICE C650GT. The CE is just too many comprimises and way too fugly for my tastes. Electric may be the future but it is defintiely not the now in 2023.

    Removing backrest on 2018 C650GT

It's an interesting thought. I wonder if anyone has tried and can comment if they are interchangeable? Honestly...my sheppskin covered GT seat (minus the hump) is pretty darn comfortable now so not sure I would take on all the effort and expense..

    Removing backrest on 2018 C650GT

Apples and oranges. The sport saddle is completely different and doesn't include the rider's hump. I know by removing the GT hump that I improved my continous ride time ability from about 30 minutes before needing to stop and stretch to now over a couple of hours. Truly a massive improvement...

    Removing backrest on 2018 C650GT

I'm 6'2" with 34" inseam. Removing the back pad and fitting a sheepskin to cover the ugly mess left behind was the best thing I've done to my GT. MUCH better legroom and my butt is so much more comfortable. I don't know how you tall guys ride this scoot in stock configuration.

Genuine BMW Inner Pocket, topcase (BMW PN - 77438527035)

Looking for the now discontinued genuine BMW topcase liner bag. BMW has deemed to call it a 'Inner Pocket' but it is basically a topcase bag. I put the PN in the title if anyone wants to search. Here's the guy I'm after. They were $130 brand new. I'm looking for a like-new example for less...

    Motoscan app and service indicator

Does the PRO version of the app get everything done or should I purchase the ULTIMATE version? I've seen different reports posted online.

    Service indicator

I found a trick (posted right here in this forum) that will allow you to remove the SERVICE indicator on the dash w/o a visit to the dealer or purchasing a scan tool and resetting the service date yourself. Roll the bike's internal date back to a time before the service date that pops up when...
