Hi guys, I haven’t ridden the bike for one month and all this time it has been on a battery tender so I know it’s not the battery for sure. I filled up the gas tank and added fuel stabilizer preparing the bike for storage. I then proceeded to start the bike as usual but all I get is this unusual buzzing sound that’s coming from somewhere near the center or ignition area. It’s about 10 degrees Celsius outside so it’s not the weather. Anything else I should look for? Thanks in advance.

I left my scooter like you because of an injury to a hand and the same thing happened to me, I had to take the battery to the agency, because with my charger it did not charge properly, and look that it charges car batteries, then I had to take the motorcycle to the agency because the windshield was deprogrammed and no longer went up. In the end everything has worked correctly and I no longer stop operating for more than a week.

I had a similar sounding problem with my scooter last year. Even though my scooter was always kept on a battery tender while not in use, it turned out to be a bad battery. Once it was replaced it worked fine, although a trip to the dealer was required in order to reset the windscreen.

Thanks for the response guys. I've ordered a new battery and will try to replace it while still plugged into the battery tender so hopefully I won't need to bring the bike into the shop for the windscreen programming.

Sorry henryd - I've had computer issues and just saw your comments. My 650 is a 2014. I have replaced the battery but never had an issue with the windshield needing to be reset. I've never even heard of that until now?? I am probably going to replacing my battery next Spring once again as it is getting old now and don't want any issues. I do keep it on the bmw tender btw.
