2014 Finger Lakes BMW Rally

Coming up at the end of the month! I saw one scooter there last year. Unfortunately, in all likelihood, I'll be there on my K1200LT again. I'm dropping the C650GT off for its 12,000 mile service tomorrow morning, and I'm guessing unless there's some kind of miracle, I won't get it back in time for the rally.

Anyone else here going?

I wish I had your dealer. The ONLY people I know of around here who get their bikes back within 24 hours are the Harley owners. That's because there are so many Harley dealerships and independent shops specializing in Harleys they have their choice. The rest of us just overload the few existing dealerships for our own preferred brands and put up with the long waits.

Nice to finally meet you, even though you were on your way out. I saw your scooter there all weekend, but I never saw you around it. I hovered around it several times a day during the event. Oh well! Hope you managed to stay dry on the ride home. I just got caught in one little sprinkle in the Poconos. One day, I dream of packing up DRY camping gear. It's like Sasquatch... everyone has a story of doing it, but no one can ever provide concrete evidence that it actually happened.

Hey Jaime
Good seeing you also, no rain on the way home. Took the tent out of my dry bag to dry the morning dew off and what did it do, of course it rained. I partied hard all weekend and I was tired on the 6 hour ride home. I was on the highway up here after the border crossing and I just wanted to pull over and rest my eyes I chose to ride home and rest there. No pictures from me either just memories. Good times had by all that I met (including you) next year we will do it again. I replaced my low beam light today (reached from below) 5 minute job

I left trenton dry the week before (I left later as the tent had a chance to dry out). So I also have a dry story but no concrete proof

I didn't really take any photos at the rally site either this year. Just some photos at Heron Hill Winery in Hammondsport. I'm friends with the Wine maker and the Quality and Safety Manager (they used to live here on Long Island and work at one of the vineyards out east, but took over the job in Hammondsport when it became available). I had my own private tour and tasting (and I had to hang out for a good long while before I felt like I could safely ride back to Watkins Glen too).

Even better was an episode of Monk, where the OCD detective learned how wine was made, he spit out the wine and said all he could taste was FEET.
