Available Farkles for CE-04

Anyone found any accessories for the CE-04? I'm specifically interested in small tail bag that can hang off the back end over the rear fender. I've seen some bags for the bike but they are either mounted to passenger area or to the side. Also, any RAM type mounts that will work on this bike?

RAM Mounts responded to my inquiry and said this is about the only thing they currently have that would work (by attaching to rear mirror stems) is this:

Torque Small Rail Base

I also submitted a request that they make one to fit over the two brake reservoirs.

I have a 48L top case and mounting bracket coming from Shad. It looks like they have side cases in the works for the CE-04. A center console bag would be really nice.

It's pretty much an accessory desert out there right now as far as I can tell. I'll report back on how the case works out.

Ram mounts for the reservoir tops please because they are not flat but domed.

Givi do a frame for their top box which is neat. However it comes only as side frames and you then need to buy a plate for between the side frames and the actual box.

When fitting make sure that you offer up the top box plate forward end forward. That way it lines up perfectly and you won’t need to sweat the hole lining up for an hour.

Finally a Givi screen - the orange one is purely decorative and there’s no sign of the OEM BMW larger screen being available.

Pics follow.

The Givi screen (with OEM orange screen superimposed for scale).

Edit. I have tried to upload some pictures but all are too large, whether apple iPhone or jpeg. CBA.

The rear rack. Puts the cog of the top box just a little to the rear of the rear axle but doesn’t steal most of the pillion seat like OEM.

The simplest thing may be to resize them -- it's what I do on this forum, because of the small-size limitation here.

Do you have the pics on your phone only -- in which case, what kind of phone? -- or do you have them downloaded to a computer -- in which case PC or Mac, or something else?

Yes on my phone and yes downloaded onto Mac and yes converted into jpeg. I want to share the information in case anyone is interested, but its too much trouble to devote my time to learn how do it. Still CBA

Okay, on a Mac, I think this is the simplest way to accomplish what you need to do, i.e., without learning anything too complicated, without installing extra software, etc.:

1) Open the pic in Preview. You can just drop the pic onto the Preview icon at the bottom, or run Preview, and do a File --> Open.

2) Click View --> Show Markup Toolbar

3) Click the Resize icon -- I'll show this in a second.

I just did this, starting with an iPhone pic that I took at the end of a day-trip yesterday. I had downloaded that pic to my Mac, and it had dimensions of 4032 x 3024, with a size of 2.9 MB. That the sort of pic that this forum considers too large to put in posts.

Okay, having done steps 1 - 3, this is what Preview looked like, and I have added an arrow, to show you the Resize icon:

Screen Shot 2022-08-30 at 10.17.21 AM.jpg

4) Click that resize icon, and you'll get a box for the new size. That box starts out with Inches as dimensions, but that's just too weird. There's a drop-down box -- I've indicated this by another arrow -- that I suggest you change to Pixels, as I've just done:

Screen Shot 2022-08-30 at 10.17.56 AM.jpg

5) Over-type that 4032 with, for instance, 1000. Then click OK.

6) Click Save, or Save As, if you want to preserve your original file. (You have to hold down the Option key to get that Save As to show up as a choice under File.)

Those steps will change that original 4032 x 3024 to a pic of 1000 x 750, and from a size of 2.9 MB to approx 200 KB, i.e., a reduction of size by more than 90%. Those 1000-ish pixel files are detailed enough for viewing on forums, and the 200- or 300-ish KB size is acceptable here. I don't know what the upper limit of pic KB or MB sizes are here on the forum, but I've never had, say, a 200 KB file rejected, but have had the typical 2 or 3 MB size rejected all the time, just as you encountered.

Those steps are really not too bad, once you get used to doing them for this forum. Takes way more time to describe them than to actually do them.

I hope this helps you out.

Steve’s, you mention a Givi Screen but I don’t see anything for the CE 04 on their website. can you provide a link to where you saw / purchased the screen?

Thanks

Someone made a comment about the scooter looking like something from Total Recall today, but that product page is giving me Judge Dread vibes. I only looked for the urban tailbag as I have the one that goes on the side. Let me see if I can source the hard case.

I like the tail bag that Shad has but I refuse to buy add-ons where the 3rd party brand name is 5 times as big as the logo of the bike. It would make it look like I'm riding a Shad bike.
