While investigating a puling vibration at 50mph through the seat and footboards it came to light my final drive chain O rings have hardened/expanded resulting in many stiff links. The vibration was eventually traced to a notchy rear wheel bearing which was replaced.
It is puzzling to me that BMW choose to fit an O ring chain in an oil bath chain case. The bike has done 24,000 miles but the chain is not worn, simply is ruined because the links are tight. Has anyone experienced a similar issue, fitted a none O ring chain or can comment on the service life of the final drive chain?
