BMW open face helmet

Just thought I would share with you just how good the scooter sounds whilst wearing the BMW open faced helmet. Whilst wearing any of my other helmets including a modular the engine noise is the one thing that I don't like about the scooter. This helmet adds to the grin on my face [emoji41]

Yep, if I could change one thing, I would make my sport quieter.

Frankly I tend to agree but trust me it did not win the Best of the Best in the Red Dot awards for nothing. It is a seriously comfortable helmet and my favorite during the warm and hot seasons. Airflow is great and in Malta that is a must and yet it is my quietest helmet, better than my Schubert M1 to be honest. My ex-next door Neighbour is the GM of the local BMW dealer so seeing him wear one whilst coming and going on most days must have grown on me so I bought one. Frankly it's how I bought the scooter too, I didn't like that at first either, I wanted a T-MAX but the GT grew on me to look at too.

Here is a review about it. http://gearpatrol.com/2012/11/15/bmw-airflow-2-helmet/

It doesn't matter how good it is, it probably wouldn't fit my long oval head! I have a Bell Star "Custom Fit" helmet. They laser scan your head and make the helmet just for you. Can't get much more comfortable than that! It fits perfectly.
Ventilation is nice, but, here in New England it isn't as important as it is in Malta! I am sorry, I get the same feeling looking at your airflow helmet as I do when I see a picture of Trump.

I have a Bell Mag-9 open faced that was my first helmet and love it. However like most open faced ones it's fairly noisy and you are best to wear ear plugs over longer trips. Now there is another topic. To wear ear plugs or not? I was convinced by a friend to start and think it does reduce longer ride fatigue.

Ok I get it, you REALLY don't like it. But don't be sorry, now we have discovered that the problem is not the helmet but your long oval head. Just kidding :)

I agree with you on the spaceman shape and frankly it is an odd looking helmet however like I said, even the shape grew on me. As a helmet, for me it's great and to go back to where I started the scooter sounds really good whilst wearing it which is also important as I dislike the sound of the engine. In short, reminding you of Trump is not going make me stop wearing it ;)

Completely new system from the head exhaust ports back, with different mounting brackets. I don't think you can swap it out, BUT...

With the Akrapovic exhaust especially with the DB killer out you not only get awesome sound but better performance as I've noticed on my c600 sport, I've even had people commenting on how deep the sound is :)
