Broken exhaust vent

I was riding my C600 Sport at highway speeds while suddenly the belt shredded into numerous pieces leaving me stranded. After having my bike towed to my mechanic it turned out to be caused by extremely worn variator rollers. All rollers had flat spots on them, and several were worn down to the metal. Great to see the previous owner took excellent care of his bike...

So when cleaning up the debris of the drive belt, I found several pieces of broken plastic as well. One of them had a part number on it, and it turned out to be an exhaust vent (11158540901). Comparing the broken plastic pieces with the parts diagram, sure enough they all match up.

Now we can't exactly pinpoint the location of this exhaust vent, and BMW's part diagrams aren't helping us much either. The exhaust vent doesn't seem like a crucial part, as my scooter is running just fine without it, but it would be great if someone would be able to pinpoint the exact location, so I can take a closer look to see what might have caused breaking it.
