C600 Sport flex case sensor

Hi all,
So few days ago I was involved in a collision, where truck rear ended me at an intersection. I stopped for a red light and he didn’t make it and took me from the back. Nothing serious luckily, but there is some damage to the bike. Few broken plastics which should be easy to replace (the other driver will pay for it of course).
My question is, however, regarding the “closed flex case sensor”. It appears that after the collision it is not working properly, i.e. doesn’t detect when the case is closed, unless I press my hand on it.
Normally, the bike doesn’t start unless the case is closed. Having my hand on it allows me to start the bike, but as soon as I let go, the “case open” sign on my dash pops up, along with exclamation mark in triangle, but engine still keeps running.
The question I have is if I can still ride it, i.e. if it won’t kill the engine while riding? I need to get the bike to the mechanic, which is about 40 kms away.
Also, is it possible to bypass the sensor somehow?
Thanks
Kris

Ok if anyone needs to deal with this in the future:

I took it apart, quite easy to do. First I removed the flex case from the storage compartment by removing six screws holding it. Then you have easy access to the lock, which is held in a plastic bracket by two screws. Undo them and you can take out the lock itself with the lock sensor.
During the impact some things got bent a bit so I just moved it back and now seems to be working fine.
