C650 Sport

Couldn't see a heading for the C650 Sport so I guess this is it.
I just bought one on impulse and it's great for cruising, but one thing I can't work out is can you tuck the mirrors in for better lane splitting? Or can anyone recommend after market mirrors that do this?

I used to worry about that but no more. I lane split all the time here in Los Angeles, often in very tight traffic jam situations. It's very rare for me to not be able get through, and usually it's not due to the mirrors. Do you know you can turn them inward on their stalks? I don't bother doing that either since the mirrors are usually not the issue. Try it for a while, I think you will have the same experience i have.

I've been riding for decades so quite comfortable lane splitting, but the C650 is the widest and heaviest bike I've owned. And unlike LA with big wide roads, where I live is narrow and tight so every millimetre counts. I can't fit into half the gaps my last bike could which is a little frustrating.
The mirrors look like they turn as there is an obvious join near the bottom but I can't get mine to budge (and I'm scared if I push too hard I'll break them.

Believe me not all roads in LA are wide, especially the surface streets I take, I should post a youtube video on it one day.
One of the minor reasons I don't turn the mirrors in is that it's just way too hard! I need both hands to turn one. There's major spring action keeping them in position but they should turn with enough force applied. Don't know why BMW made it that impractical.

Maybe the spring action can be adjusted, e.g. by loosening a screw at the bottom. Will look for that, because it would be handy from time to time.

in fact every time I park the bike and put a cover on,
I make sure the windshield is retracted all the way,
and turn the mirror stalks in
There's a clear detent that sets but they turn with little effort.
You may want to sluice out the base, make sure there is nothing in there sticking
