Haha -- good idea. I broke one tab off mine a few weeks ago. It still works but not quite as elegantly as when it left the factory. Definitely a design flaw :-(

The funny thing is that I kept the broken tab at first, then threw it away. After further inspection of the cap I thought I might be able to super glue it back on, so while still at the gas pump, helmet and gear on, I took the top off the trash container and started sorting through the trash. Quite a spectacle I'm sure. Didn't find the small piece but at least I set the tone for how people in the area think about BMW C650GT owners.

I should have put my helmet down by the pump. Might have a collected a few bucks.

Unfortunately, mine was not covered. 70 bucks. Oh well, I've done dumber more expensive stuff.......often.
