C650GT Impact Protectors installed

Since I cannot ride my C650GT until 1 April due to seasonal plates restriction, I spent some time to install BMW Impact Protectors Kit (Part Number: 77038555385). The kit contains 8 pieces to be installed on floor boards, passenger foot rests, and front and rear side panels. Installation was pretty easy up to the last step where the attachment points for rear panels were not marked as described in the installation manual and I had to get a bit creative. I think the look is decent; what do you think?

Assuming that its some holes to drill on the panels?

Correct. According to the installation manual the points for drilling indicated inside of the front and rear body panels, however, on my 2017 (US specs), rear panels were not marked.

I bought the impact protectors for my 2020 C650GT. The current version includes bumpers for the front fairing and for the rider and passenger floorboards, but not for the rear fairing. That's why you couldn't find the marks for drilling on the inside of his rear fairing panels.
I was going to install them myself, but the shop made a mistake on my order for a rack and scooter jacket. To make up for the delay, the shop installed the impact protectors gratis.

They look great; I hope you never need them. I spent some time in Germany in '74 - '77, my German friends never mentioned a seasonal plate, where I was (just South of Frankfurt) we rode motorcycles year round. Just seems odd to me, but many government rules seem odd to me......
