Changing battery without disconnecting terminals

Hi guys, I know I need to change out my battery but is there any way to do so without disconnecting the terminals. Last time I did a battery change, the system was reset and my windshield wouldn't go up or down anymore, until I went into the dealership for a reset. I'd like to change out the battery without fully losing power. Any ideas? Thanks.

On my Sport this was not an issue, but have you checked the owner's manual? It should explain it. One way is to connect another battery or tender to the cables as you swap out the battery for a new one so there is continuous power to the system.

Has anyone had experience with this? I thought the cigarette lighter socket on the left storage box was for powering devices, outputting power. I didn’t know we can actually charge the bike battery this way (charging power back to the bikes system).

This is probably way too late but I've been fortunate to only have the windscreen require re-calibration a couple times. I just make sure to do the swap fast and hope for the best!

I charge thru the cigarette lighter socket. I use a Battery Tender with a cigarette lighter socket adapter. Works great.

I charged through the cigarette lighter socket while I replaced the battery this year and it worked out just fine, no settings were lost and my windshield still works.
