I swear by simple green for most greasy/dirty tasks. However I have never used it on material. Do not know what it might do. Suggest trying a little on a rag and see how it performs on the gloves before you go full bore with it.

I second the suggestion of Simple Green. It cleans well and seems incapable of harming anything. When I got my current GT with 15k miles, I sprayed the living daylights out of the handgrips to get 15k miles of sweaty palms off. They felt fresh as new.

I use it liberally on the cloth seats of my Prius and they feel like new. For smooth surfaces like vinyl or rubber on the bike (seat, rubber floorboards), it tends to streak and doesn’t clean as well. But for gloves, grips, cloth, spray away with no worries.IMG_5338.jpg
