Yesterday i noticed on my right upper fairing where the battery is the CLIP had broken right at the front angle The right side with the BMW logo has to be replaced. I had to go to the Honda dealer that works on BMWS and the fiberglass & logo would cost a total
of $538 bucks I do NOT know why the clip broke that holds the right upper fairing. I have NOT hit any potholes at all. I am thinking
that the original owner had been riding on dirt rds. where he lived. Any case i have to look on Ebay for the part. Cuz i WILL NOT
buy it from the dealer to much $$$Can someone help?

If it is still attached, then just repair the plastic behind it? Or did it completely fall off and get lost?

The plastic did not break it was the clips that hold the 2 parts together on the front corner where it meets up
with the gray cylinder block just below the headlights on the right side. I do NOT know if you can repair those
clip that hold the tupperwear in place? I did do some searching last night on Ebay for that part. But so far it
is a no go Yes the right side upper cover is still attached I do not know what some things are called. I am a
special needs person meaning a slow learner.

Most of this panel is held on by screws. If the tab that holds the front edge has broken, I would try and glue it back on using some sort of epoxy. If the other screws are still holding, its probably not going to fall off. Or put some clear tape over it to hold.

The price on the panel is 356 new and that is not painted in whatever color you have. You can either fix what you got or replace it. You bought a BMW, parts aint cheap and there are not a ton of used parts available since this is a pretty low volume bike.

If the front clip is broken a strong gust of wind at hiway speeds can come up from underneath and blow the panel out from the inside. This happened to me on a very gusty day doing 75mph on the expressway on my way to work one morning. I was running late as usual so did not look for it until after work. Never found it. Hopefully you can get the correct color replacement if you cannot fix the clip. You need to use a plastic welding adhesive. JB Weld will not stick(first time I ever experienced that).

The clip usually gets broken because whoever is removing the panel does not know that front screw exists. When I bought my replacement (first one stolen and trashed by tweakers trying to find the engine kill switch) the front clip was broken. I did not know this and was why I lost it on the hiway. Then when the second on got stolen (not much damage this time) the repair tech doing the insurance repairs did not know it was there. They used some sort of plastic fusing adhesive that left mild chemical burns on the tech’s hands. I’ll bet he never forgets that front screw.

They are NOT cheap either. My Swing was totaled just because of the plastics being ALL scratched from the
accident i had in Dec. 26 th. The total came out to $3.299.78 n the bike was only worth $3.950

Is the battery n air filter behind the upper right fairing? Still reading the owners manual . thanks for the info
I wonder why Ebay or Amazon don't have that my color black U.F. fairing.?

I had to replace one panel on my Swing, it was one of the lower valence panels and got cracked. It was 96 bucks shipped and already painted in the right color. Really no comparison between the cost of BMW and Honda parts. And of course there are a ton of old Swings on the road comparted to C650's

So i took the 3 screws out that were holding the upper right fairing. The screw on the very tip of the
fairing i left out. I fiddled around with the fairing and it went back into place. You could not tell that it had
come loose . I have been riding it without any problems with the fairing come apart at the very tip. I was NOT
going to buy a NEW fairing for $538 bucks So all is good now.

Read my comment from may30. Gust of wind pushed panel out far enough for hiway speed wind to catch panel and tear it off bike. That front screw is there for a reason. Find a way to make it work.

Well now i have to replace the right side upper panel on my C 650 Cuz after my right foot slipped under the bike as
i was getting on the plastic bracket that holds the panel on broke. I had it taped and it went flying
off just the other day. So now i will have to look on ebay or Amazon for that part and some screws. I have the
part # so i will be looking for it asap.

Check also on ebay, used parts come up there regularly at normal prices (replaced my heated saddle for an as-new one for something like $100 last year).

when the part is in stock. good luck with that. may take a while to get it part # 46638563818 it is black. Can

I was told that panels would not be available in original colors. Try asking if an unpainted panel is available.

I ordered the blank panel from BMW ascondido motorsports out in CA. about a week n a half ago. I did NOT a
email or anything yet. So i called them again on Tuesday. they said the have not received the part yet. It is
payed for already. I think i am getting the run around with them. So on Saturday i will call the AGAIN and i will
ask to speak with the manager and see what he can get done. IF nothing can get done i ill stop the payment.
I mean WTF is going on i need that part.
