Cold starting

I have a C 400 GT attached to a battery mantainer (so fully charged), this morning I go to my box to start the scooter after 6 weeks of being parked (temperature 10C - its winter here).
I crank the starter without any joy... just turns. Eventualy I crank turning the gas (i shouldn’t, its fuel injection) it comes to life for 2 seconds and then dies. This carries on for a few times !
After the 6th. attempt at cranking it fires up to life and idles very roughly wanting to die.
Once its warm it starts normally.
this is a total disappointment on an engine and scooter... coming from a Honda scooter which was flawless !!!

the cherry on top... I changed remote battery 6 weeks ago, and it tells me its flat again ! This is an absolute nightmare !
I honestly would not recommend this scooter to anyone !

Scooters and motorcycles aren't like cars. The best scooter is one that runs daily to keep the fluids, batteries, and rubber working. Six weeks parked will get you what you describe. 50 F is still riding weather. I ride near 0 C. European bikes are different from Japanese bikes. I learned this when I went from Suzuki and Yamaha. Honda Scooters unfortunately are behind the others at least in the US. I would love to get a C400. I know my scooter would run consistently. I don't know what kind of Honda that you owned.

I hand a Honda Forza 250cc. Never missed a beat. Changed battery after 8 years of ownership, had it since new. Very cheap to maintain and absolutely reliable.
Well, today my BMW C400gt went to the dealer to get sorted out... :)

If the bike is not being run for many weeks, I'd consider adding fuel stabilizer to the gasoline.
If it's possible to buy gasoline with no ethanol, that would also be a good idea when the bike is unused for many weeks.
