I just got off the phone with the service manager at Max. I am so F**KING DONE with BMW. The timing chain (WHICH, by the way, was "fixed" under a recall notice shortly after I bought the thing) slipped and the motor is now damaged. About $4,000 in parts and service. Two years out of warranty.

I am DONE with BMW. They just SUCK. I am going to be writing to them right now, but I am never buying another new BMW as long as I live.

If I were to sell the thing on my own in PERFECT working condition, it's only worth $5,560.00

Garbage. I'd rather buy an old airhead. At least those were built when BMW valued longevity and reliability. Right now I'm leaning towards a brand new Yamaha YZF-R3. MSRP on those is only $4,999.00. And Yamaha has the HIGHEST reliability ranking according to Consumer Reports right now.

But, isn't better spent 4000 to fixed her then buy a new one?

I think Jamie's right. At some point you're just throwing good money after bad. I bought one of the '13's in May of 2014. At the time I used the "discount" to buy a 7 year full extended warranty and it will be sold shortly before that ends. Sorry to say there is NO WAY I'd risk keeping without a warranty now.

Wise move.

Hello Jaime! This is Paul in Iowa, been a while. AFREAKINGMEN! I bought a '14bmw f 800 gt, 6-16, traded in the c 600 sport and I have had it with the whole bmw experience! The clincher came when I got my hands on a 1979 Honda cx 500 custom. The bike fits, corners, INEXPENSIVE to maintain, parts readily available, oil changes are done SITTING on my stool. No bar risers, footpeg lowering kits Needed! 9575 redline, runs like a striped-ass ape! If I could unload my gt, I would look for a 1983 Silverwing, swear to God! I know I used to sing the praises of the f 800 gt, no more, am done with bmw. Brother-in-law was bmw guy from wayback, now has a 650 V-strom and loves it.

Also, those bmw scoots weigh as much as a 2018 Harley Heritage with a 115 motor. That was another reason I got rid of mine, the freaking weight.

That never bothered me. I prefer riding my motorcycles than carrying them so the weight was never an issue. ;)

My E-Mail to BMW North America seems to have gotten noticed. I received a call last night from someone named “Sean” but I wasn’t home. I called back and apparently BMWNA is going to look into the situation.

They took the information on where and when the bike was purchased, where I normally have it serviced, how many miles on it, and where it is now. I was told it might be a week before I hear anything one way or the other. I called Mike up at Max BMW to let him know that he’ll likely be hearing from corporate.

I’ll keep everyone posted as things develop.

Got an update that they are still working with Max BMW for a full evaluation. May hear something by tomorrow.

Just heard back from BMW NA. They aren't going to do SHIT for me. As soon as I am able, I am heading up to Max's with the title in my hand and wash my hands of that worthless piece of shit. I am SO sorry I wasted so much time and money on that ****ing thing. Then, I'm going to look into the Yamaha XMAX (unless, of course, Yamaha decides to bring back the TMAX for 2019).

That's disappointing! Did they say why they were denying the claim?

Given the facts of your situation this is a terrible result for BMW.
