I was doing some minor electrical work on my 2014 C650GT and did not remove the ground wire from the battery first. So when adding a ground bar to the L side I was removing a bracket there and briefly touched the bare connection to the fuse block to the bracket when I heard a whining of an electrical motor. I finished the work, (installing a Gerbing coaxial panel mount plug to the panel below the handlebars). Now when I try to start the motor I get the "EWS!" warning on the dash and the starter motor won't work. I tried both my keys with no luck.
I'm guessing that when I briefly touched the bracket to the bare connection to the fuse block, I must have somehow disrupted the communication between the key and engine electronics.
Does anyone on the forum have any suggestions as to how to fix this other than taking it to the dealer?
