Gaspe'

Left yesterday for Gaspe' Quebec. The temperature was perfect in the 70's most of the way to my first stop in New Brunswick. Didn't take many pictures as there were to many trees in the way, and it was very very windy.

Did take one with Mount Kahtadin in the background, it's the Northern terminus of the Appalachan trail.

I had some more pictures to post, but, the site keeps telling me the files are to big. Yet, the first picture was taken with the same camera. Why does this happen? Anyone know?

I got home from my trip to the Gaspe' Quebec last Sunday. Did 2600 miles in varying sections . Stayed in 8 towns along the way the way; three on the Gaspe, three in New Brunswick, one in Prince Edward Island, and one in Maine on my way home. The weather was good, 70 to 75 degrees most days with a couple in the 90's and only got rained on twice.
Quebec is French speaking, mostly, I was worried about this. Fortunately, almost everyone spoke some English and my High School French was enough to read what signs and menu's were without translations. Everyone was very friendly and people went out of their way to be helpful. There were no unpleasant people along my journey. Of course people are friendly all over Canada, that's why I like to go there. Canada also takes care of their tourists, with ample rest stops with clean bathrooms, helpful information attendants and usually wifi. I worried about gas, also, unnecessarily, as I found the gas stations before I went on reserve, in most cases . Twice I got into reserve, once while crossing New Brunswick's timber country where there wasn't anything but a few logging trucks and trees for a long time, and once when I planned on fueling in a town where my recently updated GPS said there were three gas stations, I found them all out of business. A few towns later, running on fumes, the GPS found an open station.
I ride to see new things and places. The trip provided what I wanted. I loved running along the rivers of New Brunswick and wished I could spend time in the old logging towns, amazed by the roads carved out of the bottoms of ocean side mountains on the Gaspe', and surprised by the beauty of the PEI
potato fields, every mile had something to keep me interested. I had planned on posting some pictures, unfortunately this site is not allowing that.
A nice trip, I wish I had had more time to spend along the way.

Awesome! Glad you had a nice trip. I've never been east of Arizona, someday I hope to make it to New England; Canada would be great too.

"Sport" touring. My opinion is the Sport is a decent touring bike. I never wished I was riding something else, and never felt under powered.
The only problem was not being able to put it on the center stand when fully loaded.
Modifications; GT handle bars, side and top cases, aux power for radio, GPS, heated gear, and various chargers.
Note, I used a beaded seat, as I thought it would be hotter weather, and used it for the entire trip.
The next long trip I will put on thicker grips to alleviate some hand and wrist pain I developed by the end of the trip.

Trying to find out why I can't post pictures, seems it is a file size problem. I reduced this pic of the longest covered bridge in the world.

Great info on your trip.
I'm no tech expert but I had/have the same problems on this forum with posting pics.
I have had to edit the pictures and crop them a tad smaller ( my technical term;) and then they are accepted.
I only use an iPhone for a computer or camera. The iPhone is so easy to use and transfer pictures. Except here apparently.

Gaspe' North shore

The North Coast of the Gaspe' had some long beaches, which I didn't expect. Then there were long stretches where the mountains came down to the ocean and the road was blasted out of rock.
