Hey All,

I'm about to pull the trigger on a new 2019 C650GT (currently ride a F800ST). I was originally looking at touring bikes until my wife reminded me I was dreaming again. I then started looking into adv bikes as a cheaper alternative for touring. I reluctantly settled on a VStrom 650xt, until I stopped by BMW for one last look at the R1200RT… And then the 650gt piqued my interest. I don't really like the look of the big scooter, but wow, it rides nice, and I think I can manage the seat hight (I'm 5'6"), but I may get the lower seat. Anything I need to know before I start signing paperwork?

Just make sure you can back her into a parking space. She is a big fat lass the GT! Low seat would help, but it doesn't come with the bum warmer.

TAKE note of this advice. Park only uphill or level or you won't be happy.

If two up is seriously often option, you might consider backrest, or topbox with a pad for the wifey. She will be happy, and if she is happy...

You will not be disappointed with GT, I had numerous bikes in my life, mostly beemers, (Montauk, Montana, R1200RT, K1200GT, F800S, etc) and scooters (Vespa, Helix, Silverwing, Burgman). GT, by far is our favourite. Most of my riding is with the wifey (see the second sentence above)

Best of luck, and safe riding!
