Hi. I'm an older guy, pushing 70, and I'm thinking about buying a scooter. I've had 57 bikes in my 50+ years of riding and I have 7 bikes right now. My only scooter experience is a KYMCO 200i, which was a nice little scooter, just too small and under-powered for me. Looking at BMW's C650GT or Suzuki's 650 Burgman.

No bike history for me just scooters. I went from a 250 Helix clone to a C650GT. Looked at a Burgman and a Silverwing. Burgman and Beemer are close. I went with beemer for a scosh more leg room and factory option heated seats and grips.

Today I purchased a used 2018 C650GT from the local dealer. It has 4K miles and 1.5 years left on 36 month warranty. I pick it up Friday morning.

Well, I had numerous bikes, like you, most of them beemers (boxers, k and f bikes).
Most of a time I ride with the wifey (2 up), recently she was growing uncomfortable on motorcycles, and almost pull the plug on riding. About a year ago I bought 2016 C650GT, with 250 miles on a clock (!), and the wifey absolutely adores it.
I installed a top box: a tad of extra cargo space and a back rest, both rather handy.

From my perspective, C-GT is one of the most comfortable rides I have experienced. It is not too heavy, not to light, just perfect. As far as scooters are concerned, I owned Silverwing, Helix, Burgman, Vespa, not necessarily in that order. I really liked Silverwing, but GT’s performance and handling is superior. I am anxiously awaiting an update to GT, hopefully it would come soon. I trust that the new C-GT will have some of the C400 features, but only the time will tell.
In a meantime, and almost 6K later, we are enjoying riding Texas Hill Country, 100-150 miles rides. The wild flowers were/are spectacular this year...

I have installed stronger horn, now I can scare truckers. I strongly recommend doing this, as well as aspherical mirrors.

Safe riding!

Thank you. It's good to know I made a good decision buying this scooter. I've made some bad decisions buying bikes on occasion . . .

Last time I was in San Antonio was in the summer of 1971, in USAF basic training. I remember the Alamo and that wonderful little river that ran thru the heart of town -- very nice in the evening after a hot day.

1971... the city has grown so much, it made nr 7th in the US.
It still growing rapidly, especially the north side. Fortunately we enjoy good management, and the roads are being constantly updated. Fair cost of living and excellent health care facilities.

And, of course, the Hill Country...
