This is the situation with regard to my soon to be purchase..

It's a 16 C 650 GT with 575 miles. We have agreed on a price Buttttt!!

Originally he said he needed full price to get the title from the bank. OK sounds right. Then as I am figuring out the logistics to pay he says, Can't find the title is going to need to apply for a duplicate from IL.

I can understand using the bank story as a negotiation tool. But I can't imagine not knowing it should be in the mail. And in the mail (lost in the mail is what he said) from whom? Bank? Dealer? Individual??

For me the only thing that made me the slightest suspect was that it did not have that lane detection symbol on the mirror posts. It had heated seats/grips etc...

When I do a Vin search it reads that my ninth character does not match the date. Its the letter E. WB10C150EGZ315590 . Just a basic search, I'm not even sure if Car Fox even does bikes.

Asking for opinions, If anyone has the ability to look up the vin that would be cool. Can you get the GT without Lane detection??

Now that I look at it, shouldn't the tail pipe be more angled upward??

"Originally he said he needed full price to get the title from the bank."

If you believe that, I own a historic bridge in Brooklyn I'd love to sell you.

Not being snarky, I just can't envision any scenario where that sentence is legit.

"Lost in the mail" sounds equally sketchy. From your description, I'd count my fingers after I shook their hands. DEFINITELY don't give them money until they produce a title (and possibly a lower price not based on unidentified, faraway bankers).

I believe lane detection is an option. My '19 C 650 GT does not have it, and it has heated seats and grips, electric screen, TPMS, etc.

Muffler looks normal.

I think white is the prettiest color for the GT. I had a white '16 and loved the look.

I agree with all of that. He has three things in his favor. 1, he has the bike I want. 2 he is not hundreds of miles away. I knew the Bank had the title was shady to begin with but it is a common bargaining ploy. My dad has sold cars and been a dealer my whole life (57 yrs) I may not have seen it all, but I have seen most. There are a couple of rules that are unbreakable. Title=$, and $ = title. And lastly, there really is not much, used inventory on the market, nationwide. I am pretty much done driving for a day to test-drive anything. It is also interesting, I had read somewhere that the angled exhaust was a feature of the 16 model year. But when I do a Google image search I see them both ways.
