High Windscreen - Finally!

Finally! My high windscreen is here. What a journey. I ordered it 2 months ago, telling the parts guy to order me the windscreen AND any necessary mounting parts. The mounting bracket got to the dealer within days (shipped from California). The windscreen was shipped from Europe and, kid you not, they shipped it by boat, which meant it took 6 weeks to get to the dealer. They notified me that the parts were all finally here. Went to pick them up and guess what! They forgot to order the 2 screws, rubber washers and grommets. So, had to wait a few more days for that to come in. Eight weeks after ordering, I finally was able to install it. I don't just blame the parts guy, but BMW for being too stupid to include the mounting screws and such with the mounting bracket. Why, when ordering a high windscreen, should there have to be 5 line items of parts you have to order?!?!?! Ridiculous!

Now, maybe I can ride in 40°F at 50mph, which is 26°F wind chill if you're getting the full brunt of the breeze, and not freeze.

It looks great on the grey! I've got the full windscreen as well on my white CE04. It's been pretty good to me, but the air flow feels like it's at my shoulders rather than over my head.

I've been tempted to try the smoked Puig's as I feel like they look better, but I've decided not to go that route as it compromises driver visibility toward my hi-vis vest.

Less wind pressure on the helmet from the front. Buffeting is very slight, but more wind noise with my helmet. I am seeing more efficiency in battery use. I am 67” tall with a 31” inseam. I am on the freeway frequently with speeds between 65 and 80 mph and find the tall wind screen is nice for the times it is cold and wet. I did add a windscreen spoiler and it did help with the wind noise, but because of the spoiler I see more flex in the windscreen at speeds above 50mph. I may look into a taller support for the windscreen because of that.

Thanks for that, sounds like its a net gain. I need to get ready to winterize my CE soon, tempted by the Puig and the hand guards.
I had a puig on my forza and found it to be great.

The dark tint looks like it might help with glare on the on the instrument screen as well.

I didn’t notice much glare off the TFT screen before, but I did install a screen guard. It has a matte finish. The dark tint does make it darker around the TFT. I have the brightness turned up to 11 on the screen.

Battery efficiency is what makes it worth it. When I was looking at parts it suggested to also buy a reinforcement panel. I don't see that on yours, is it optional?

I didn’t know that was an option, can you please send a link….there is quite a bit of flex at speeds over 50mph, reinforcement would be helpful.

For you CE-04 owners looking for a bigger aftermarket windscreen, just a note: you might also want to consider Wunderlich's Marathon windscreen:

I don't have a CE-04, but I do have the Wunderlich Marathon on my C 400 GT (https://www.wunderlichamerica.com/b...hon-windscreen-clear-tinted-solid-tinted.html). It is very thick and seems to me to be well made, I would do it again, etc.

I am not sure that this will work on the Puig windscreen. The BMW screen has a flat surface which is not true of the Puig. It would need to be one supplied by Puig for their screen, or I just make my own.
