Howdy from Louisiana

I'm possibly losing my mind. I plan to trade in a 2013 Sportster and 2007 Vstar1300 Tourer to get a C650 Scooter. I have had many motorcycles and a couple of small scooters. I plan to use this new ride for long distance touring to the dismay of my riding friends. But it seems very comfortable and after a mandatory test ride I hope to get the scooter ASAP. Any suggestions or advice is appreciated. I sat on one at the International Motorcycle Show in Dallas last weekend and I fell in love with it. If the test ride goes well I'm all in.

Howdy right back! Paul in Iowa here. Get the scooter. I had a Harley rider watching in amazement as I stuffed a full face helmet and armored jacket under my seat. Said he " I can't do that with my Wide Glide." The scooters will do it all. 2013 c600 sport, 1993 r100r

Hello from Napa! I had a Road King and both my wife and I greatly prefer the 650GT. I probably drone on too much but:
a. I/we absolutely love the smoothness of the CVT vs. shifting although you'll use the brakes more to slow down.
b. Slow speed rear-brake friction riding stability makes me seem like a motorcycle pro riding 2-up. (another CVT + for me)

In a couple months you'll just smile at the doubters and "scooter questions." The last thing they'll want to do is actually ride your bike because it will mess up their world.

I can't understand why I would want to contend with gears when I have all the performance that I would ever need on the GT. That's not to mention all the storage, we all have stuff that's comfortable to have handy and stuff we need to take home or to work now and again.

There is also the benefit of having extra protection from wind in cold weather and from engine heat in hot weather. For me it's a no brainer!

Go for it, but GET THE NEW 2016 MODEL! It has lots of factory upgrades/improvements/redesigns over the Gen 1 C-series scoots, that address shortcomings in the clutch, gearing, variator, engine mapping, off-the-line performance, fit & finish of plastic panels, etc.

(Everyone else; you can trade in yours for a 2016 before the warranty is up...just sayin'...)

I think you'll find it to be a great tourer. And a good fit for those times you used to ride your scooters. It is the perfect mix of the bikes/scooters you have already owned.
