idle

I have just purchased a 2017 C650 GT with 21k's on the clock. The scooter has had the 20k service with fitment of the CVT kit as required. The engine idle is quite rough until getting over 3 - 4000 revs, and has belt squeal for about 1 1/5 second when accelerating. More prominent when cold.
Is this normal, or am I super picky after downsizing from a K1600GT that was getting heavier.

On modern engines like these idle should be very smooth; it certainly is on myC650. I've never heard any belt squeel-like sound under any condition, that also doesn't sound right.
The idle could be many things: plugs, air filter, vacuum leaks; I would read out the codes first and take things from there.
