I'm Convinced, the Epilogue; or simply, I replaced my C600

Ergos, in stock form good for about 1 hour. But there is so much that is changeable. I knew that going in so I prepared. The biggest issue is the vinyl covered 2x4 they expect me to sit on. Remedy on the way. In fact the two biggest complaints arw probably the seat and footpegs.Day 1 I knew the footpegs sucked. Looked it up and sure enough, everyone complained. Either scooter is going to be more comfortable touring. Still, I am enjoying the MC.

Ok, more monologue from me.
The bags, thanks Skutorr. They hold a total of 16 liters. yep. 16. and they cost only $350 for the brackets and bags. Crazy expensive for what you get! I got a deal though, on ebay. I bought the bags for $199 and the brackets came with them but weren't listed in the description.

I want to talk a little more about the riding experience compared to the scooter for those that care to hear. Continuing on the question above, I do find the bike very comfortable at travel speeds(55-65mph) on backroads and such. I am surprised at how different the wind feels on a naked bike, even before I put the tiny screen on front. I have ridden my Aprilia 250 and BV350 without the screen and felt like i was going to blow off at 45 mph. I expected the same on the MC but that isn't the case. Not until about 65mph or so do I feel like I better hold on. Also without the screen and even with the small screen the noise level is so much quieter on a naked bike. I wear a full face helmet, wear earplugs and still dealt with noise on all of my scooters. Hardly an issue with this bike.

I also find I may be riding faster than my skillset. The bike is smooth and easy to move through corners, much better than any of my scooters. It doesn't have that roll on torque like the BMW (only 40 hp and 25 lb/ft torque) but it moves easily through corners and handles much better. This could be due to geometry and shorter wheelbase I'm sure.

Downsides. Clearly, storage, easy of use, and weather protection. Comfort in stock form, easily the scooter but give me time to work on the Ducati. At only 400lbs, it likely won't be as stable on the fast moving interstates, and going above 70 may not be pleasant on this motorcycle.

More thought as they come later. Thanks for reading along.

Grey.Hound, enjoy reading your updates. I had forgotten what it felt like on my first bike back in the early 1970's. But reading your posts ... it's all coming back ;-)
Smart to know your limitations to stay safe "I may be riding faster than my skillset". Keep it under control and have fun!

Thanks.

I'm going to respond here to Jaime's comment about getting a zero, rather than the other thread. I think if I knew I was only going to commute or had a capable long distance bike, I could see a Zero. I still want the capability of travel if the time arises and a zero would't be good for that.

Totally agree ... my thoughts exactly ... good call. But if you have room in the garage for multiple machines, owning a Zero would be sweet ;-)

Yup. Motorcycles are fun. Scooters are fun. Power to weight ratio not all that different on your mc vs the C scooter. And with the different suspension and sportier set-up it makes sense the mc would handle differently. Glad you are having such a great time with it.

Went out for a real ride for the first time. No rev limit, no speed limit for break in. It's been so busy in my household, today was the first ride of the year for me. 100+ miles of open mountain roads. This bike performs just as expected.
