Lighting - what works?

Maybe it's just an angle or suspension adjustment issue, but the lights on my CE 04 are terrible. Worse than the F650GS I had, and far far worse than the 1150GS.

When the brights are on with the CE04, I feel comfortable at 45mph, but without them on, 35mph is all I'm comfortable with on unlit country roads. I'm going to try to make some adjustments to the suspension & light angle settings - but I'm pretty sure I will need auxiliary lights. What solutions have other folks found that work well? LED Lights are easy enough to find, but I'm unsure of which ones will mount and wire well onto the CE04.

Some ideas:

Dipped beam on mine was terrible - the lights were pointing down too much. I increased the beam angle using an adjustment knob behind the front panel and it is just fine now.

@Bob66 - thank you for the confirmation. I was concerned that it wasn't going to be a beam angle issue because the brights were good, but once I took the dash panel off, I saw that the angles of each set of lights were independently controlled.

I've adjusted my bike, and the #1 issue I had with the CE-04 is suddenly resolved. Thank you!

Couple of questions - I pulled the cover but the knobs are not that accessible

Also which way do you turn then to raise the lights?

thanks Mike

Yes, they're difficult to get to but it's not impossible. I can't remember which way I turned them, it was so long ago. At the time I faced my CE04 towards the garage door with the lights switched on and watched what the lights did when I turned the knobs. I marked the position of the top of the beam on a piece of card propped up against the door so I had a baseline to work with. Note that one knob adjusts left-right and the other adjusts up-down.

I called Clearwater in Sacramento. They have a canopener compatible with ce04. They don't have mounts for Darla lights though. I'll have to call them about harness design.
I want to use this for lights and accessories like I do on a gs.

I emailed ezcan in South Africa and they don't have a ce04 solution.

I think there is a 3d printer in my future for 1) lighting mounts, 2) rear signal protection.
