Looking for a compatible synthetic motor oil.

I came across a synthetic motor oil that is SAE 10w-40 with the following compatible specs:
API SG, SL/CF, CG-4; JASO MA/MA2; ISO-L-EMA2; API GL-1

Does anyone know if this oil would be ok for my 650gt?

If you can find Motul 15w/50w blend that will work in the scooter great stuff about $10.00 a Qt/Liter and since the oil change interval is 6000 miles really not that expensive the oil is Mutol 5100.

It amazes me how most will recommend a blend motor oil, but no one has really vouched for a 100% synthetic motor oil, which supposedly is the superior product....Your thoughts?

The BMW specifications are quite explicit. 10w-40 definitely does NOT meet that specification.

Depending on the climate that the vehicle is operated in will have an effect on what weights of oil could be used. An OEM will recommend a product that should provide appropriate protection in every environment that the vehicle would see. My bike is in Northern California, so I'm not all that concerned as to what the oil will do at temperatures under 20 degrees F for example.

CVT engines tend to run at very specific rpm's for extended periods of time...much like an aircraft. this is the oil that I will be using when its time to change. As well as the Avblend additive. All is FAA approved which I would think should be up to BMW snuff. And I do not worry about the clutch as the CVT system is Dry. So modifying the frictions of the oil will not effect it.

Worry not, I'm sure BMW will change their spec again. The last change in specifications were mandated from the Germany for political reasons, they wanted the people who sponsor their race teams to have the business in the U.S.A. Needless to say, but I for one will not be using BMW semi "synthetic" oil but stay with their old supplier Spectro oils.

Probably the best normal oil for engines is Rotella T. Its cheap, available at walmart and has an excellent reputation. What it does not have is a marketing campaign or a special color bottle.
