Max speed governed at 80MPH

Has anyone explored options to bypass the governed 80MPH max speed?
Thanks

I would be very careful about bypassing anything on a BMW motorcycle. I have a good relationship with the local dealer and I was chatting with him one day about finding a way to activate a feature and he cautioned me against that. He told me about a guy with 2 S1000RR M bikes, and a local speed shop told him they could flash the ECU and get him 20hp more. Turns out they bricked both bikes. He then brought it to the BMW dealer to fix, which they couldn't do and so 2 new boards later and $15000 out of pocket, he was good to go.

I read a review of another electric bike and it said it had a boost mode but was only alowed to operate for short periods due to motor overheat - maybe thats why the BMW has the limiter on.
