My 1000K Day

Early departure 6:00am headed south down the I5 to Sedro Wooley, picked up the N.Cascades Hwy 20 and then East to Winthrop.
This journey takes you through all kinds of scenery, terrain and temperatures.
I went from 16C to 33C in a matter of miles, the temps rise quickly as you drop down the east side of the Cascades.
Awesome views through the mountain range and well worth the trip.

Carried on to Omak then north on 97 back through the border at Osoyoos, up to Penticton where I was considering an overnight but decided to see if I could do the round trip as I was feeling pretty good so then backtracked some to pick up the old Hwy 3 Hope/Princeton, this hwy always has fond memories for me it was the route covered many times on my fishing trips with my dad back in the 60's to his favorite lakes.
Since they built the Coquihalla hwy this route has become somewhat abandoned and many of the small towns have died out, sad really.
All the way down through Manning park where the temps always plummet so a road side stop and back on goes the thermal undies and on to Hope and a quick stop for supper then Hwy 1 home.

Got home at 9:00pm 924km later a little tired but the thing is, I would never have done this on any other bike I have had, the C650GT was excellent, triple digits for hours and some fun twisty mountain roads my wrists were fine my bum still had feeling and the bike was still fun at the end and that's all that really matters I suppose. :)

Sorry not many photos from this trip but here are a few from Hwy20 and a route map.
