Hi. My windscreen adjuster won’t work after a long winter storage? My 2014 C650GT has only 4,900 miles on it. Pls help?

Was the battery disconnected or dead at any point?

If so, that makes the bike's computer forget about the electronic windscreen. Solution is to have a dealer reboot. Short, sweet, shouldn't cost a lot (I was hit for $95 to reprogram, which I think is outrageous).

That may make sense because after my post I checked the electrical circuit between a switch and the adjuster thoroughly. There is no juice on it. The computer must be forgetting it. I will send the scooter to the BMW dealership this Tuesday. Thank you very much for your mentioning it!

My BMW scooter has been in the shop 4 times for this problem, always a computer issue. I may eventually hard wire it.
Yah, BMW bikes do not have this problem. Only scooters, so far. IMO, no need to hook up up/down windshield switch to computer, unless looking for extra revenue.

Mine also. Inevitably happens if I drop the kickstand while engine's still running, or hit the kill switch. Grrr.

FWIW, the big bikes also have the problem. GS-911 has a reset-limits capability for them, but I've not found it for my C650GT so far.

Longrower, Your GS911 may need an update, mine does re-set the windscreen on my 2013 GT.

I'm back in the fold, having received a used '14 today. The windshield worked well earlier today, but all of a sudden it's

weak on the right side. It tries to raise-up cockeyed, and of course, only goes so far before it seems to bind.

I read this and went to the manual I purchased on line to see if anything would jump out at me. It looks pretty straightforward to remove the windscreen and windscreen holder then the instrument cluster (only 3 screws for the instrument cluster) and you expose the windscreen motor and plug, at that point you can examine everything and see if the pins or "c" clips are missing, if there is a bent or rusted part of the screen drive, or if anything presents itself relating to the one side failing. I haven't worked on this component, but it doesn't look too complicated, I have seen this component in the "bay" and it looks like all years will fit. t doesn't cost anything to take it apart and see if you can identify what has it cock-eyed, it may just need some lube....I wish I could give you a definitive answer of exactly what is happening, this is one of those times the $20.00 I spent on the "download" manual would pay off. I'm a commercial electrician and have worked with my hands my whole life, so digging into something like this wouldn't scare me, and it's part of the package that I enjoy with motorcycles. I've rebuilt 3 motorcycle basket cases then sell them, the challenge of repair is part and parcel for me, but everyone isn't wired like that. I have the service manual on CD as well, I just need to get a reader that is double layer before I can install it on my computer. I may have had a better picture. Please, when yoou do get it sorted out post back and let us know what you found. Also, where in the world are you? there may be another member close to you who could at least lend moral support.

Sorry Longrower, I read your post a little more carefully, When I had the GS911 talking to my computer I fumbled around a little and I want to say there is a section for calibration that had the screen in it as well, I won't have to look at it any time soon as I've caught up with all the maintenance, if I have to get back in I'll post the section it is located in.

Got mine to the shop Wed, and had an oil-change done while at it. Turned out not to be a programming issue, but mechanical. There's a pin that passes through the moving armature linkage, and two C-clips at the end of the pin to keep it in place. The clips were gone, and the pin had begun to walk out, and I guess it got mangled a bit. They had the part, luckily.
