Need suggestions for refueling.

I find that the filler area is way too short. If I go to a gas station that has high pressure nozzles, I always spill fuel. I then move to another gas station and try again. Is there a readily available solution to this? I'm guessing some sort of funnel is in order, but I want to hear what your experiences are. Thanks!

nhoelb, I get that. What I'm talking about is that some gas stations pumps/nozzles no matter how light of a squeeze you use, it still too strong.

Just maybe your missing something: The first time I put gas in the bike it went all over the place, then I realize there is a hole in the bottom where the nozzle goes in. Stick the nozzle thru the hole ( I know that's what she said, but no joke here ) push down and go for it.

I've honestly haven't tried that. Must be because I'm 6'1" and not keen on bending over to see where the point of the nozzle ends up. I'm gonna really try that next time. Also, appreciate the link to the gadget...if all else fails, I'll be ordering one of those!

Hmm...just got done watching the McCuff video. I can see that it won't work with the BMW. Why? Because all I will be accomplishing by sticking the end of the nozzle thru the McCuff is a couple of inches distance from the gas tank. At the rate gas is dispensed out of these high pressure nozzles it won't be long before the mouth of the tank overflows with gas. If someone here has used it successfully and want to share their method, please do.

Refilling the tank is almost impossible from the right side of the scooter, but from the left side it is very easy to direct the spout into the hole.

I have not figured out what the problem is. I pull up to the pump and pop the cover open and remove the cap. I then slide my credit card in the pump, remove nozel and insert into opening of tank, fill the tank remove nozel, close tank and cover. This is all without getting off the scooter. Not a drop spilt. Yes the tank is full

Sadly, I do not have experience with this. From the sounds of it, you will definitely need something for aid. I would assume a nice nozzle would be in order. A funnel that wasn't too small would work well too. Best of luck, keep us updated!

I guess you could get one of those things to help you when fueling. Though, I never had a issue with refueling.

I have never encountered such filler that is too short.

Your idea of a customize funnel would be great but try to find other alternatives and maybe there is one on sale from your local bike shop or online.

I'm trying to decide if I "really need" a GT with two other scoots in the garage and a desire to perhaps pick up a Yamaha FJR. That being said and why I'm here, to see what owner's are saying about the bike, I found the position of the gas tank rather odd. My Majesty has the tank in the perfect position, on the floor of the step through area. Not only is it easy to fill siting on the bike, but holds a cup of coffee with a small bungie.

The Burgman 650 is easy since it's on the side like a car, you just have to be careful you don't break the door hinge (yes, I did).

I need to check the GT closer the next time I stop at the cycle shop. I doubt it's a major issue, just not at the most convenient spot.

I haven't experienced an issue thus far in fueling, however if the pump only runs full volume I can see where someone might have an issue. I find filling from the right side to be a bit easier for me. I just take it slow until I hear that gurgling sound.......

The only problem I have with refueling, is often times, the last bar of the fuel gauge will not illuminate, meaning the tank is not quite full, but the nozzle has automatically shut off the flow. It then takes several clicks for me to nurse in a full tank of fuel.

I hold the gasoline dispenser "upside down" from its normal orientation, i.e. dispenser nozzle and handle oriented over the seat area. This way the nozzle easily fits into the hole and the shutoff system stops the flow. I too suffered some spillage on my first fill up - but since then - using this approach everything has been easy. I've only had one scooter in the past where gasoline filling didn't have some issue involved. On my old Burgman 650 filling it required an engineering degree.

I own a C600 Sport. I cannot speak to filling up a GT if there is a difference.
