Need to replace coolant 2016 c650 GT

I'm not clear if I need to us a vacuum tool to replace the coolant in my 2016 scooter. It appears that all BMW motorcycle built after 2013 require a vacuum fill but does that apply to the scooters?

Can't tell you what the C650 GT service manual says because that involves getting out my service DVD and firing up my old PC-with-Windows laptop, which I only use for the BMW DVD, and navigating to the coolant flush section, and I'm not inspired to do that now, sorry.

However, I can tell you I've changed coolant on three GT's, used good old fashioned "pour it in" technique and never had an issue (always use BMW coolant, fwiw).

My notes following a C650 GT coolant change:

"COOLANT
Installed new BMW OEM coolant March 2021 at 15,100 miles.
Coolant capacity listed as 1.5 liters in the service manual (40% of a gallon)
NOTES: Drain the coolant pump and torque to 10 Nm (7.3 ft. lbs.). Drain the overflow tank, loosening the right bolt to tilt the tank down and pour every drop out. Drain the radiator. Exactly 1.5 liters came out, which is BMW’s listed capacity. Optional: flush with distilled water. Most of 1.5 liters of new fluid poured into the radiator cap and overflow tank. When both were full, ran the engine a few minutes to get coolant into the system, rocked the bike side-to-side on center stand, and was able to add the rest of the fluid. Exactly 1.5 liters went in."

Sorry, I'm generally not a tough crowd at all. My posts here offering part #'s, procedures, tips, insights and experiences number in the hundreds. I help people and people help me. It's a beautiful thing.

However, there is a small subset here who expect others to do all the work for them. Even something as simple as Googling. Laziness irks me. Clearly you have a pressing need with overheating. That's different.

https://www.bobsbmw.com/store/product/bmw-antifreezecoolant-1-quart (you need two liters to put 1.5 liters in. There are two drain plugs to get 1.5L out).

Is it the same coolant that bmw uses for cars? I can’t find clear answer on that. If that’s the case then I have a gallon of that stuff I was just hesitant to use it in the scooter before finding out if it’s up to spec.

I believe it is the same coolant used for the cars, at least I hope so, that's what I used when I swapped out my coolant. To be honest I felt sure it met the requirements, I would need to go back over everything I looked at to say why, but at the time I was very comfortable using the BMW coolant from Advance Auto Parts.
