I'm a Portuguese proud owner of a C 400 X bought semi-new, now with 20.000km. One of my 3 motorcycles.
Starting with the not so good side of it, I just had a engine fault last week that I hope won't be too critical (basically on the axle that connects the engine to the CTV, I can't explain it better, honestly don't care about the mechanics of the thing). Although it was a bad surprise, the reality is that I didn't give this toy a particularly easy treatment in this past years. But well, let's hope this breakdown is the exception in the long life it will have in my hands.
To finish the bad things, I have to mention the suspension - too soft, in more committed driving it completely loses composure, and for city holes the combination with the small wheels is terrible. Fortunately, the excellent seat really minimizes this problem.
Also mentioning the (bad) cargo space under the seat, even with the flexcase it turns out not to be good at all. Although I got say that I never used the front side of the cargo space and just recently realised it can actually hold quite a lot of stuff there, it looks smaller than what it is.
The traction control, although generally very good, sometimes does gets a bit to intrusive. But that's the exception, most of the times it works on the background, almost unnoticeably.
Speaking of the good things, well, there are a lot! The c 400 X has an incredible overall quality, it is effectively a small scooter that, due to its quality, does fells like a bigger bike when you drive it. I use it in the city, often with my daughter, and I've already made two big trips (over 1000 km) with suitcases and in one of those trips with an adult passenger and it's luggage and it managed well! In terms of driving, it is extremely easy and predictable, so much that the pace we can get out of the engine is easily exhausted without any major problems - obviously taking into account the road where this is made, otherwise the suspension will limit the experience.
The dashboard with the gps/mobile phone connection works quite well and is very good looking, the engine is very energetic without using up a lot of fuel (although I don't really care about consumption, when I do remember looking at the average consumption it's amazing how even with strong driving it never rises dramatically).
In short: I love my C 400 X, I see myself having it up to 300,000 km. Even with the tantrums he sometimes throws (like this breakdown...)
