Thanks for letting me join in I have a Honda Silverwing currently but now looking at the BMW 650s
Greg, welcome aboard. Having put a couple thousand on a S'wing, I can definitely vouch for the GT.
The handling alone, plus better braking, simply blows it away. You will find the storage 'almost' as good as the Honda. Neither seat is worthy out of the crate, but the S'wing was a medieval torture device by comparison. The only downside is that the GT's engine has more character, that you both feel...and hear, LOL. That comes at the price of a few less mpg than Honda's, too.

The first Silverwing i had ABS and i LOVED that feature cuz i never had it before. I like the BMW 650's cuz they have
heated hand grips and as well as the seat plus a place for ur ph. to recharge. How is that adjustable rear suspension
on the back? Smiley talked about that a little on you tube. Which BEAMERS have the windscreen go up n down?
Thanks for the welcome

Hello! and thanks for the ad (y) I'm from Bonny Dundee in Scotland, a 2016 650gt is being dropped off to me on Wednesday, and I'm excited! I've ridden most of my adult life, and had most bikes you can think of (except Harley Davidson) but It's time to call it a day, and chill out with my wife, who btw would never jump on the back of a bike with me, but has ridden pillion on scooters before whilst on holidays...................... I'm looking for tips on mods, and I'm sure I've came to the right place, Cheers!

Hello all. Been on here a little while but realized I never made a proper intro.

My name is John. I live in Las Vegas, NV. Got my new to me 2014 c650GT in mid November. It had 953 miles on it...yes...It is like brand new. I have since put about 400 miles on it in the past 2 months. Thank you for all of the info on this forum. I look forward to more interaction.

Welcome aboard. Just make sure on these new old bikes that you check for the recall for the timing chain tensioner. If it is a very early model, dont keep riding it till you know the work has been done. Another new guy posted that he had it break and is now wondering what BMW will do for him.

Yes Evil Spock before I bought the bike I checked in with BMW that all campaigns were taken care of. Had the hydraulic tensioner done, brake line, some computer update, kick stand switch update all done. Great advice though. Would hate to be in that guys shoes having just got this and have a blown engine.

Glad you figured out what the avatar references.... There was another posting of a guy parting out a bike he had just gotten where the engine grenaded on him for the same reason. Hate to see that happen to anybody.

So what is the best MPG in city driving and backroads.? Heck i have been able to get as high as 62 mpg. BUT that
was on backroads just doing about 45 to 50 mph. When i twist the throttle and on highway around 70 to 80mph
it WILL soak it up like water.

I'm averaging 49.7 based on about 1000 miles so far. I keep an app on my phone called Fuel Log and enter the fill ups on anything I drive. This is mostly backroads riding with a bit of highway miles and a bit of stop and go as well, filling with premium. It does a bit better than my R12RT did which got about 42. Way better than the Can Am Spyder which gets about 28.

ALL the good mileage i did was on my Silverwing that i still have til the appraiser comes up with the totaled
estimate... Can am Spyder is a nice bike but lousy fuel mileage That is good to hear that the BMW will get
that good mileage. Premium fuel is that a must on the BEAMER?

They all call for premium. I give/gave it to the bmw's since, well, they are bmw's. I run the can am on regular and it seems to do fine. Spyder is a 998 rotax v-twin pushing a bike that weighs about 1000 lbs.

Hello. I'm a new member from Tokyo.

Have a C650GT in a garage waiting for a parking space nearby. First ride ever on a scooter, I was sold, but already have a number of mods in mind.

Cheers,

Lance
I also ride a C650GT in Tokyo. Maybe you're the other one I've seen on Route 246!?

Hallo i am from the netherlands and joined this forum because i bought a C400GT (incl extended warranty and service inclusive). Since there is a lot of information shared in this forum regarding both positive as negative infomration, i decided to join. I tend to share my experience with the C400GT in this forum.

Hello from Falkirk in Scotland, just had a 2012 c650gt delivered,I've always fancied one but they are so rare here I'd never seen one in the flesh so it was a shot in the dark!

Had it out for a 200 mile blast on Saturday down the borders and I was surprised how quick it was and how well it handled!

I've had a few maxi scooters in the past Piaggio X9's/X8, gilera nexus 500, Burgman 400 and a 650.
My last bike was a Honda Nc750x, great bike but missed all the benefits of a maxi.

The C650gt has full dealer history but I've no way of telling if this tensioner has been done so I'll need to get the panels off to check.

Good forum with plenty info!

Cheers
