Hey everyone!
I'd like to say that, I'm extremely glad to join the ranks.
A little bit of background; since the 80's and 90's, I was a Honda Elite and Helix user. For the last year, I have been attempting to get back into scooters (last time I rode was in a Honda Helix 250, 1998). I wanted a T Max then a Burgman 650. Unfortunately (and as it turned out later, fortunately!) I only had enough money for a down payment...but my credit after a recent bankruptcy, sucked. So, for all those months I have been scouring forums reading up on everything there was regarding the t and the burgie.
Then the announcement came out that, BMW was going to come out with a scooter(s). The first pictures of the concept were very intriguing. Initially, it was even said that the mirrors were replaced by a rear view camera. Imagine that! Little by little, details kept coming out until the U.S. had distribution dates. By the time they were already being sold, I started to haunt my dealer (Motorcycles of Miami).
I had my eye on a GT model in Platinum/Bronze. Dealer said they had a guy coming over to look at it, at that point, I was still waiting on money to come in from a settlement at work. When the money finally was in place and I was ready to buy outright, the scooter had already been sold. Dealer only had another two GT's on the floor; a vermillion red one and a black one. I skipped the red one since my last Helix was red (although not like the beemer vermillion red) and choose the black one. Before seeing it ( I was told by the dealer when they were in the process of assembling the black one before I ever set eyes on it) I thought the black was matte. Actually it was a glossy type of black.
Anyways, here's some photos of my new ride. BTW, I'd like to say that IM A PROUD OWNER OF A NEW BEEMER!
