I need to trailer my scooter and I am a bit paranoid about damaging things with poor strap placement. I'm having a bit of trouble deciphering the smallish greyscale photos in the Fastening the E-scooter for Transportation section of the Rider's Manual (pp 131-132 of 2023 CE 04, US Model). Does anyone have some nice color photos illustrating the proper strap location that they can share? Also, the manual mentions "protecting all component surfaces ... (e.g., using adhesive tape)", if anyone has recommendations a type of tape that they have used to protect the scooter from the straps that would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

p.s., Intending to trailer it using a rented U-Haul motorcycle trailer.

You might just be the first to trailer it on this forum. Please make sure to take photos and share whatever you come up with. While I have not trailered a bike, if it was me, I would probably use painters tape - or more specifically automotive tape.

I purchased a handlebar strap. It has a hard plastic can shape on each side that slides over each handlebar then a strap loop that is part of the setup on each side. You then connect your front steps to each side and it pulls each handle bar 'can' tight to hold the bike in place. That was rear straps, on right side loop through rear frame just under the seat near back right side and for left looped it at base of rear shock. Worked for me though I just one a U-haul motorcycle trailer when I need to tow it to the bike shop for service.
