Protection for Cold/Wet Weather Riding!

Over the head, eh. I'm not sure about that. I think I might prefer the waist belt on the motorrad offering. Admittedly I've not tried it so my opinion is only from watching this video. Every apron I've used is a belted type. I will say, aerodynamically speaking, the inflated bit at the rear does spoil the lift created by the airflow around the bike adding stability. My missus Vespa has that feature and I like it. It appears to be a thinker quilted materal which will keep the rider warmer than the rubberized fabric on the bmw unit which I think translates temperature a wee bit more than I like. You prob can't go wrong with either choice.

Yeah over the head does seem to suck but it's got a fur like coating inside and about $80-90 cheaper and that if you dont have the dealer install the BMW one.
Plus I like that I actually can view a video that shows the product in action. For the BMW one I'm lucky to find specs

I wasn't even lucky enough to find installation instructions. I had to grab a set of torx and start pulling panels apart.

I can't speak for the BMW cover but just by thinking about it, the Tucano seems easier to install and cheaper. $80 cheaper and no cost of labour or installation(?).

My experiences with the Tucano on the Vespa has been great. I almost never put the apron on OVER unless it starts to rain or snow randomly... Other than that I just flip it down or under.

Only problem I can point out are the inflates. They punctured and I had to order two new ones for lie, $6 each but I was only able to get it at SIP. Shipping was high but I added it to other stuff I needed.

That's another issue, I think I would only ever break the cover out if it rained. For the most part, cold weather doesn't bug me. So the why spend the $80 extra and installation cost. The other side is I'm getting a nice bike. Get it done right. Lol. I got a devil and angel on my shoulders!!!

The apron is much like heated seats and grips. We got on without them for decades, but once you get used to the comfort, it's hard to go back.

I used to live in Florida when I was in academy, what a strange place.

Well if it's more about rain and not the cold, why not go for a rain suit? You can easily tuck it away under the seat or Topcase. As for the apron, it took me less than 5 minutes to install on my Vespa when input it on this season.

I HATE wet clothes and the apron does save my pants from getting wetting... Can't say for the upper body as much, but yeah. Apron does the job, cold or rain.

Biggest issue with Florida? The only twisties are freeway on/off ramps. Oh, that and the drivers that should've given up their licenses thirty years ago...

Anyone have the BMW cover that can confirm its all rubber like material inside and out and maybe some pictures??
Rubberized fabric. The rubber appears to be galvanized to the fabric. It's only on the outside. The fabric backing is on the underside. There is a square of fuzzy material that snaps to the cover directly over your thighs to help with the cold. There is also an integrated seat cover and three pockets. Two very large ones, on each side and a small one right on top, prob meant for passports or other documents.

Thanks for the info. If I have the cover, it sounds like I don't need the rain cover for the scooter then...or does the cover just go over the riders seat and not the passengers?

It's a full seat cover in nylon. I'm not certain how water proof it is to be honest as I put my real cover on the bike in the wet, even when I'm out in it on rides, it lives in my top case must of the time. The integrated seat cover does not address the grips or the instrument cluster. For that I like the R1200RT half cover. It's water proof fits well folds up into a wee little pouch and was only $40 from my dealer.

So I got the cover installed. Like it so far. The only thing that I can't figure out is the seat cover. It doesn't seem to fit over the entire west. I opened the seat cover with the throught that since there and elastic band on the end of the cover, it has to go under the seat. The passenger seat is totally covered but the front part of the west didn't see to be covered. Towards the front of the seat and by the gas cover, there doesn't seem to be anywhere to tuck the elastic band to so the front isn't covered and some of the front side of the seat is not covered. Is there a trick to it ?
