Anyone out there think these might be useful? Keeps you Dry and Warmer.
Motorrad makes them as so does Termoscud...

Some folks swear by them. I might try one out. I bought some over pants that are really warm, but those look like they could be a little more convenient since I wouldn't have to stash my over pants.

Was in London recently and saw a few of these so they appear to be gaining in popularity. Didn't see them stop tho so not sure how often they actually tip over :)

When I was in France I saw a lot of scooter people who were wearing what looked like a very large oil cloth coat that attached to the handle bars loosely and draped down to the tops of there shoes /boots and your feet were free to move around and when you stopped you could put your feet down with out any problem, they really shed the water very well and looked comfortable.

I was in Paris this last Thanksgiving and saw a large number of these types of covers on bikes.

I have one and I SWEAR BY IT!!!...Honestly this was one of the biggest deciding factors that led me to just go ahead and buy the C6 vs a used GS, (well its also a scooter and I can still go to all of the Classic scooter events that I have been going to for 20+ years) I have used them on Vespa/Lambretta for years and I already knew how great they were. I do like the fact that it attaches to the bike and is fleece lined where it would touch yer legs. The bodywork needs to come off of the front of the bike to install it, but after it is done I will only ever unclip it off if it gets hot. I even leave it on when I go out with a Pillion. No Worries.

The last clip on the bottom closest to your feet is of the "break away" type so if you actually panic and attempt a Jumping Jack approach to putting your feet down, it will allow you to do so. I have never had any issues as I just come to a normal stop and put my foot down. It is loose enough to not be of any worry. It does have some ribbing imbedded inside it so it tends to keep its shape very well. I do not usually attach the supplied belt when I ride. I might be more tempted to do so if it would ever rain here in California. The seat cover is nice to keep the Dew or condensation off the seat so as to keep bum dry.

I only notice it causing issues above 80mph. Aerodynamically it will flap a bit but keep it at a 'legal' speed and its a non bother.

If you think that you need one....Then you do in fact need one and will love the benefits. plus its reflective and I think looks totally weird and cool.

I wear a suit at work and this is the perfect option so as not to have to deal with overpants. I will wear overpants if I do go out on a full day ride if the weather is cold. I say why leave the comfort in the garage when it so easily clips onto the bike.

Cheers,
Christian

I've been riding in wet weather on my Goldwing for the past eight years using Frogg Toggs. They look like a paper painter's suit but so far I haven't gotten a single tear in them. They breath so you don't get sweat in them either. They pack smaller than any other rain gear I've ever worn. In real cold weather I wear the pants over my jeans as a wind breaker. Their price has gone up since I got mine but they are well worth the money if you're touring and want light weight very compact gear.

ANy videos out there showing stopping and starting with the scooter coat on? It looks awesome but concerned how it would work in stop and go traffic

The rider does not notice the lap apron when it's attached to the bike, so all operations are normal for the most part. I'm off to Disney for the week but I'll try to have the missus take a video once were back showing its operation if that will help give some perspective on how it functions.

As Xian said, the apron is amazing. I have a Tucano for my Vespa GTS. Before I even purchased my C600, I ordered the Tucano for my BMW along with things I needed for my Vespa... That's how much I believe in it. If you read my earlier post about "Was it worth saving $1000 or get the heated seat?", the Tucano helped me decide NOT to spend the $1000 for the seat. My a$$ would've been warm but my legs would've been icicles. The apron would keep your whole lower body warm and even dry if it rains.

As for the stop and go, I've never had a problem on my Vespa (haven't installed the C600 apron yet). There are no straps that close the floorboard area where it prevents you from letting your legs/foot on and off of the ground. The way the apron "closes up" are the two straps that you sit on that is located on the hip area of the apron.

I do carry a rain suit though for rain... Apron will only keep your lower part dry. I hate wet clothes. I spent $40 for a cheap suit at SIP. It's not the best quality but it's better than being soaked.

Ok so Im days from getting by C650GT and I cant decide between the Tucano Apron and the BMW Scooter cover. Tucano is cheaper and looks like I can install it myself. The BMW one looks nicer but $80 more expensive and the dealer said they recommend that they install it.\

Thoughts?
