Rally for us.

I'm a new member here and enjoying the heck out of this jewel of a scooter. Looking at the member map it appears we are widely spaced out in distance.
It would be nice to have a central US rally or get together for all of us in this forum.
I would be honored to help organize or plan a get together at a central location if anyone else is interested.
Maybe Colorado in late Spring or early Summer?
Let's make it happen. 🏍🏔

Although not specifically for the scooters, please don't forget the various rallies hosted by both the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America and the BMW Rider's Association:

http://bmwra.org/rallies-and-events

Both organizations also hold a "National Rally" and I am definitely going to be attending the MOA Rally in Hamburg, NY this year:

http://bmwra.org/news/national-rally (has not yet been updated for 2016)

Kicking off my season over Memorial Day weekend is the annual Charter Oak Rally in Connecticut:

Wrapping up my season is the annual Finger Lakes Rally in Watkins Glen, NY (and I have run into other scooters there):

Sometimes it is easier just to get our scooter riders to existing rallies than to try and organize (and pay) for one yourself.

Notches

Just for the record, the Notch Rally is a no cost non rally, all you gotta do is show up,ride, and at the end of the day visit with friends.

Isn't it a Vespa Rally?

Though it's hosted by the Vespa Club of America (VCOA) there are tons of other makes there and nobody cares. I went to AV2013 in San Diego and AV2014 in New Orleans and had a blast both times, and neither time on a Vespa (BMW once and Bajaj the second).

Yes, I know that happens. LOL I meant my post to be humerous.

I was in Vermont last weekend, and it seemed like the Laconia Rally spilled over into the Green Mountains. I stayed in Killington and there were people staying there for the NH
rally. There were a couple of guys from the Canadian side of Niagara Falls in the next room. Anyway, I was scouting routes for the " Notch " rally, but, ended up doing everything else. I did get to at least one stop of the tour.IMG_0577.JPG

Near B & J's is one of the tightest hairpin turns in new England, up in Smugglers Notch.

We will go through, the only question is ice cream before or after?

On my way to Fort Ticonderoga, this notcher was waiting for the ferry when I got there. A Vermont Tmax, and ridden by a retired guy who was doing his ride around Lake Champlain.IMG_0586.JPG

I discovered it was Scottish day at Fort Ticonderoga on Saturday and decided I needed to go. It wasn't a big event there, but, there was enough bag pipe music to please me.
and I learned about the Scottish Regiments that fought at the fort. There is also a new museum addition to the fort, in honor of the cannons that served there. This cannon was believed to have been captured from the British and dragged to the Siege of Boston by General Knox's men, then brought along to the ill fated Penobscott campaign by Paul Revere, and found in the hold of a scuttled American Vessel a couple of decades ago after a couple hundred years underwater.
